I keep coming back to this video as I like these 6000 tractors. Neighbor had one back in the day, Diesel with a cab. Had the M&W turbo on it as well. While as a traveling mechanic, I replaced the trans on it for him, after that it served him well till his retirement sale. He did a lot of silage chopping and bunk feed wagon work with it for years. Good tractor when not abused, a bit ahead of it's engineering, later upgrades cured most early issues. Always looked for one for my oddities collection but haven't found one yet.

I’m glad you like them. I hope to keep making new ones here and there.

Man those 2 look fully restored and put back to work I wish new Holland never bought ford out or they merged or what ever happened. Fords are my favorite but I wound up with a 1972 massey 135 where I'm at in michigan you only can find 8n's which I want something bigger or Ford tractor blue series way out of my price range

    I've got a '63 with a M&W turbo. Turned up to 85hp. No problems.

I still have it. Hasn’t moved in a few years. Hood damaged by a tree. Anyone that wants the tractor can have it. Near Dayton Ohio.

We have a 63 with a wide front end & those 118 mounted plows wished we had a set of those 118 semi-mounted, we have the rear & front factory weight on ours though cause of the tuff red land we have in NC, those straight pipes sound good but are loud! tried it once we put our org. muffler & sheild back on! we have an extra muff. & sheild we kept off of our '61 before we sold it in case we pick up another one! there getting harder to find, let me know if you want to sell those semi-mount plows!

Grew up with 2 6000s. Had turbo on one and my dad always said it would run away from our 4020 JD

Anyone know where to get a diesel engine overhaul kit, all I can find is piston ring sets. Tried asking bob debore he has a very nice commander ,but didnt get any response.

More than likely your not going to be able to find an overhaul kit anywhere. Engine parts for the 6000 are pretty much non existent. Email me and I will give you a guys name who might be able to help you find something. hillvalleyfords@gmail.com

I was once told that the 6000 diesel had a nasty little habit of wrist pins going bad early on. A truth to that?

Robert Long Absolute truth, especially if you turn them up. Don't know if there are improved pistons and pins for them these days.
