Looks great! I appreciate the review. I've never used a Thompson Chain Reference Bible. I had exactly what you described happen with my everyday ESV Bible in softcover. It sheds so much that when I pick it up, my hands are covered in the fake leather. I've gotten so used to single column though. Do you know if they offer a single column option?
The translation of the Bible has been an interest of mine for MANY years, I have a few pastor friends that use the ESV Bible. However, it bothers me that I can find errors in a translation that even I- a person who does not know Greek- can see and wish were rendered better/correctly. Such as: Matt. 1:2, Matt. 3:1, Matt. 5:14, Matt. 7:7, Matt. 20:20!!!!!!, Mark 5:13, Mark 7:19, Mark 7:28!!!!!!!!!!!!!, Luke 2:1, 10-12, 17, & 19; Luke 3:33, Luke 16:13, Luke 16:23, John 3:7, John 11:35!!!!!!!!!, John 21:15-17, Acts 11:1, Acts 14:13, Acts 16:38, Acts 22:2, Rom. 10:4, Rom. 16:1, 1 Cor. 7:1, 1 Cor. 16:1, 2 Cor. 13:5, Gal. 2:21, Gal. 3:1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, Eph. 5:22, Col. 3:5, 2 Thess. 2:8, Heb. 11:31, James 1:1, 2 Peter 2:4, 1 John 2:2, 1 John 3:2, 2 John 6, Rev. 6:8, and others.

Excellent choice. All of that, and it was printed in South Korea.
I have said this before, but I love the footnotes of the ESV. Those help make the troublesome matter of textual difference make sense.
My church uses aesv, ai have it electronically but hope to get a physical copy one day. I love your passion
That bible looks AWESOME!!! Great points! Need to get my hands on one!! AWESOME review!!!!
Thank you my brother! It really is a great edition
I have the older format in a hardback, but I am planning on trying to buy this edition in a leather cover🙂

If I had to be stranded on a desert isle and had only one book with me, it would be a Thompson Chain-Reference Bible.
I do like TCR Bibles, but I only wish it wasn't red letter and it was single column paragraph format rather than double columns.
