  • Note at the beginning radio station WENR signs off and WLS signs on. It was common in those days when two radio stations shared the same frequency.
Fibber McGee and Molly is an American radio comedy series which maintained its popularity over decades. It premiered on NBC in 1935 and continued until its demise in 1959, long after radio had ceased to be the dominant form of entertainment in American popular culture.

At the time, the show appeared on NBC's Blue Network on Monday nights at 8pm(et). At 7pm Central Time, WENR signed off, and WLS "took over".

I've been a Fibber and Molly fan for years, but this episode to my knowledge has been lost for years, must have only been recently discovered- where did you find it?!

The orchestra was awesome. The "comedy".... not so much. I love OTR but sitcoms for some reason don't fare as well as the mysteries, horrors, etc. Variety-comedy does much better like Jack Benny and the like. Still, it's a treat to hear such a well regarded program.
