Reason why RC1 is discontinued is mostly internal. Script is very messy, which means new features are difficult to add and there is significant lag. RC2 would never really be like Oaklands either, due to the style. Oaklands is cartoonish, RC is more classical lumber tycoon style. It'll be a mix of RC1 and LT2 looks and features wise.
Oaklands died because the Logic update took way too long. The new map was so big that driving was so boring, lack of content. I believe RC2 will suceed if they update well

Apparently the script is very messy and inefficient in the original, to the point where it is best to just remake the entire game.
