just bought an ewi solo. it has 2 'bugs' which frequently give 2 wrong notes! (i have the ewi5000 which only has 1!) today i set about trying to find alternative fingerings & found so many 'useful' alternatives, it gave me a headache! i decided to set about writing some practice exercises myself, but will most likely not! now i've watched your video which sounds like what i would do if i wasn't so disorganised! i've now purchased them! thank you!
Thank you so much for your support. I hope you find the transposable fingering books helpful. Please feel free to reach-out if you have questions or if I could be of assistance. Here is my email: curtsipe@me.com have fun!
I was looking for something to practice quietly to get better at clarinet but i want to use the same fingering layout of a clarinet to an EWI, is that possible?
Agustin, Great question! I don't know of any. Researching the fingering systems for different EWI's may turn up a usable alternative. My guess at a reason would be that the Clarinet uses the overtone of a 12th, due to acoustics. This produces a lot of extra fingerings, and of course the break, which would be difficult to reproduce with hardware. I do hope you find something that meets your needs. Sorry I couldn't help much.
Wild concept, but so logical! Very very cool.
Thank you! Appreciate that you checked it out. I've got your 10 questions cued up for my walk home. Take care!!!
