- It was all looking good at half-time, could this finally be a Boxing Day win? They are rare as hen's teeth for Blackpool but it was once again not to be! A stupid sending off for a 2nd yellow card (whilst on the attack making no sense whatsoever?) for Jordan Gabriel, Blackpool down to 10 men and unlike teams against us with 10 men we can't hold on for the win or even a point.
A missed opportunity but we march on. Can Blackpool stay up? lots of twists and turns for sure. Keep watching to see if we can make it.

Yes agreed but we so had that game up until the sending off. Over the years I have become hardened to losing on Boxing Day that I go expecting to lose but darnn it we were close!
Good vlog 👍 I'm a Huddersfield fan but had friends in the away end, said at half time Blackpool would win 3-1/4-1 , the way it was going we wouldn't have broken you down to get anything from the game but the sending off changed the game. fantastic support , easily the best I have seen at Huddersfield over the years
Yep we thought we were finally going to break our Boxing Day hoodoo but it wasn't to be. Thanks you enjoyed the vlog (probably a lot more than I did putting it together last night and having to relive the pain😕)
Huddersfield was great though hopefully we will get back next year to do a full Tourist's Guide.

Huddersfield fan here, firstly great video. I thought you summed it up with the sending off cost you. I'd have taken a draw at the start to be honest as I've been impressed with Blackpool this season n your fans are the best I've seen at the John Smiths for a long time, keep up the good work n good luck for the rest of the season
Thanks Dale if you knew our history there was no need to worry I simply can't remember us ever winning on Boxing Day? it's a thing I'm pretty much resigned to. Managers, players, owners come and go but none of them can lift the curse 🤣😂
If I’m being completely honest your lot today were easily in the top 3 for loudest at our place this season . Unlucky for you lot to lose out on all 3 but we were due a home win no matter how hard it would be . I think once that 2nd went in for us you kinda had that feeling we were gonna sink yous. As a Blackpool fan of many years and hardened to losing on Boxing Day (it is very rare that we don't) I had the feeling the moment Gabriel was sent off, the substitutions nullified our attack and it was only going one way the question was could we hold out? and that is something the hardly ever happens

I couldn't believe how loud the Blackpool fans were,from before the game,right to the end of it,a credit to your club,
It was a good game & it would have been different if 11 v 11 as someone else said,
I thought the ref was poor,but nothing new for us tbh,
I did think before the sending off we could have lost 3-1,maybe 4-1,your boys played well,

Thanks as always for your kind words, we so nearly beat the Boxing Day jinx but the sending off did us just as it did at Millwall the writing was on the wall. It used to ruin Christmas almost always losing but I'm hardened to it now. Take care and say hello to the guys for me

I have a number of comments, firstly Jane was looking awesome, how long did you have to queue for? The meal at the bar looked awesome, the chat with different supporters at halftime was interesting, fantastic vlog.
Thanks George and Jane says thanks for the nice comment you made her day. The meal was amazing definitely recommended we queued for around 25 minutes but these are strange times with Covid once again getting worrying so you have to be prepared to arrive a little bit earlier and we spent too much time at the pub as it was so nice. Amazing that those 2 Americans were stood right behind us what a story shame we didn't get them to see the win that I was sure we had but for the sending off

Great support yesterday, few of your fans let you down after the 3rd went in with throwing things. The ref let the game down also, was defo 2 yellows, but he will learn for future. Very interesting game, gutted for you guys as you didn't deserve to lose like that.

yes I am not liking hearing about a few of our fans (don't classify them as fans and I hope they are caught on CCTV because that sort of thing is not wanted. Yep 2 definite yellows but 2 stupid yellows. The first one after the cross was made and it was a poor cross so unnecessary and the 2nd one why go in so hard, on a yellow in a place of no threat level with the oppositions 18 yard line? absolutely crazy and cost us

Well done on the video. As you say tremendous support and you should have taken at least a point but the sending off changed the game. And he could have no complaints, needs to learn and cost you. We were chatting to two of the lads on 6.48 walking down who lost their way. Great fans and reminds me of our away days. I was looking out for an old work mate Kevin Wilson - he lives in Mosley but ive lost touch since he left Kirklees. If anyone knows him please ask him to get in touch with John. Thanks.

Watched the highlights on quest and you could have gone 3-1 up but missed a sitter. The sending off was the turning point I felt as it spurred the home side on. We should have scored a dozen there recently but had to settle for a point ! Your fans were brilliant once again and seem to get noisier and vocal every game. Fingers crossed our match v Millwall is on Wednesday night ? I'm getting football withdrawals now. All the best to you both.
yes it did and the subs we made negated any attacking threat we had which allowed Huddersfield to pile on the pressure with little fear of a counter attack. Thought Grimshaw may as well have walked away and let them score into an empty net as it more or less was an empty net for the life of me I can't understand his positioning and why he left all the goal so open

If it wasn’t for the red card I think you would have got something from the game, you made it hard for us in the first half when you pressed us but the big changing points where the red card and when we put Rhodes on for High , hope you had a good Christmas Lee and all the best for the rest of the season

Sometimes football can be so cruel guys. I thought Blackpool were fantastic yesterday and could have easily been ahead by a couple of goals at halftime. Bowler, Yates, Madine, Carey, all playing well and then suddenly the game changed after the sending off. I felt sorry for all the fantastic supporters who didn’t deserve the end result. Hopefully Pool can move on quickly from this loss.
Oh yes it is indeed a cruel mistress but the years of Boxing Day defeats (and defeats in general) have hardened me to it. Was still quite painful though yesterday not gonna lie. Yep we will move on from this and hopefully learn from it

Yep for the size of the town we really turn up and give it everything to cheer them on. Was an amazing atmosphere shame I am hearing reports of coins being thrown which is unacceptable. We didn't experience anything of that it was simply incredibly loud

The second was definitely not necessary but if I am being honest I would rather see a young player trying to win every tackle all over the pitch than what happened at Forest when TJJ couldn't be bothered challenging for a ball in exactly the same position which lead to then scoring the winner

yes some of us 'more mature' fans have learned over the years not to give it large as it quite often in football comes back to bite you on the ass! The years and years of disappointments and being literally kicked in the bollux will take their toll as it does for all of us. Still I imagine it was nice to get the last laugh 😉

How did you end up at the Royal and ancient pub coming from Blackpool? Hahaha. Its well out of your way.
Unfortunately because it was on Boxing Day we couldn't do our Football Tourist's Guide so hopefully we will be back next year (if we can stay up) to do Huddersfield properly. We really enjoyed the friendliness of the fans we met and of the people in Huddersfield generally.
We have to plan those (er that should say Jane has to plan those for her blog where she reviews pubs and food as well as the game)
So that is how/why we ended up having lunch there as she had planned it beforehand by researching recommended places to eat and booked us a table for 12.30pm.
I have to say it really was amazing food and definitely recommended
