Love the channel been watching for years. I was very fortunate to have Eddie Kramer produce our bands recordings going back almost a decade ago. Being big Kiss fans we definitely found time to ask him about those days. Ace by far was his favorite and he loved him for sure. And you’re right that he is by far the greatest producer Kiss ever had. Between Kiss Alive, Rock and Roll Over, Love Gun and of course, Ace’s masterpiece of a solo album, case closed. They rocked the hardest and sounded the best with Eddie behind the board. I do think Ace is underrated due to Page, Tony, and Blackmore plus the Kiss haters that can’t seem to hear just how great Ace truly was in the 70’s. But as you said, we know the truth. Ace was a badass on guitar. Legend.
We've always been wondering why they didn't get Kramer to produce the debut, even G&P have complained about the sound later on... Now, could it be that Gene and Paul didn't get enough brown-nosing from him? Took 3 albums of being disappointed in the sound. When Destroyer was failing, despite all the bells and whistles from Ezrin's coke'd up brain, they ran back to him quickly, though.
Ace is the man.Always was He's the reason why I picked up the guitar About 45 years ago Anytime Ace and Eddie Kramer got together It was fuckin good!! Ace is one of the greatest guitar players of all time Anybody that doesn't think so is wrong He made my life a hell of a lot of fun 😎
Love Gun solo is pretty standard, but how its played has so much feeling in it. Only Aces style pulled it off like that. My favorite member since the beginning ('75)
I just wish there was a Kiss album with the mixing/production of Ace's solo album. It's full of life, organic, with a punch, and GOOD SOUNDING, something that IMO 70s Kiss never achieved
Ace is my favorite Kiss member and the reason I started playing guitar 45 years ago. His solos were often songs within songs and the rhythm parts he wrote on his songs were always interesting and catchy with a few exceptions. I didn't follow his solo career past Frehley's Comet's debut album. I heard a bit here and there but it can never recapture what he did in the early days of Kiss.
I got it in 75. Saw them for dressed to kill then alive. Ace stole the show every time I saw them. I never missed a 70s kiss show when they came my way. Ace is just Ace he makes no excuses because he doesn't give a shit.
Ace is the man! 🤘🏻 I'd take Ace & Eddie over Paul & Gene any day. I seen Frehley's Comet open for Iron Maiden at the Philadelphia Spectrum and after that legendary show I was glad Ace left Kiss.
Absolute agree ! Eddie does also the recording of the famous Woodstock ! It’s a quality Seal ! For all those who think KISS wasn’t good enough musically ! Did a „famous“ Producer like Eddie Kramer working with them , when these Guys cannot played their Instruments ? Eddie could choose who he wants to produce next !
I absolutely love Ace as a guitarist and songwriter. He's no virtuoso singer but his voice has a certain charm. I do think that PAWL THTANLEY of KITH was correct when he said that Ace didn't reach his potential. And I agree with you that the 78 solo album as as good or better than any album with the name KISS on it.
Eddie Kramer...get producer ...! Produced the best Kiss albums = Alive/Rock and roll over/Ace Frehley '78 solo...also the first "Frehley's comet" ...and also...if anyone hasn't checked out "Angel-On earth as it is in heaven" or "Mott-Shouting & pointing" which he also produced...they are well worth checking out too !
Yes Ace was a real rocker !!!! He was a great guitar player up until 1980. One of my heroes. Lucky enough to meet him quiet a few times. He has got some strange humor 😂, but a very sweet bloke. Got screwed over by Gene & Paul a couple of times.
My first experience ever with kiss was a kid on a bicycle came up to me and showed me kiss trading cards. I liked Ace and Gene based on their make up only I never even heard one song from them. I don’t know what year it was but it was like mid 70s that’s why I’m so glad I was 27 years old for the reunion tour. Because my parents wouldn’t let me go to kiss, it was like that they were into Elvis and shit like that
Man I love paul old makeup & yes ACE IS MY.MAN DOWN TO THIS DAY And the black Frank.AND THE BLACK Vinyl. RECORD Where you get these old PICTURES OF KISS IN CENTRAL PARK
Eddie krammer produced thrash or die , Kramer from Seinfeld produced Kiss !!! Stay heavy !!! 🤟🤟🤟🤟 Listen to one or both of the Podcast Kings in their various platforms
I don't know why some of these producers don't push the needle on the recording boards and why they never double the guitar tracks record one guitar on two tracks then then repeat them pan two tracks hard right then two tracks hard left that would have been thick as shit I don't get it I'm talking seventies recording but they should have listened to the first Montrose album those are thick guitars
In the 70s every Halloween I went as Ace frehley and guitarist like a dimebag Darrell etc and the reason I started playing at the age of 12 very influential 🤘🤘🤘
I don't agree. Saw them in 75 and everyone of them was doing their part. However, GENE stood out. Ace came onto his own in 76. I am talking on stage. I do agree that ACE is a great guitar player.
DR. FUK what's up bro I love your videos especially KISS WEDNESDAY. I have a question that I think if anyone can answer it you can. What's up with Paul Stanley's bandit make up? I've searched the internet and can not find anything on it or why he changed it. Do you know the origin of the bandit make up and why he changed it? Ace rocks and so do you Thanks brother Stay Cool
Eddie's track record is legendary, but Malcolm Young didn't click with him. Eddie was demoing with AC/DC and tried to influence the band in order to get them US airplay. Given Atlantic Records put them with him as they felt Vanda and Young's productions were too raw for radio, it made sense to the suits. But Malcolm and in turn, Angus didn't like working with Eddie, and demoed songs without him. The album that got away from Eddie? Highway to Hell.
I said it my entire life.
Ace was KISS.

Can you imagine if the kramer demos was their first album....and he produced all their albums?!?! Holy hell, coulda been evwn bigger than they were
Oh please 😂
@AarosConcerts they would have had the live sound before alive...they would have sold way more albums...have you heard the Kramer demos?
We've always been wondering why they didn't get Kramer to produce the debut, even G&P have complained about the sound later on... The best KISS producer speaks the truth!
Ace is the man.Always was
He's the reason why I picked up the guitar
About 45 years ago
Anytime Ace and Eddie Kramer got together
It was fuckin good!!
Ace is one of the greatest guitar players of all time
Anybody that doesn't think so is wrong

Ace has a sense of humor. That laugh of his was a classic right there! He was amazing then and still going strong.
Kramer and Ace, together, MAGIC,!!!!
absolutely loved listening to this, thanks for the laughs,!! 🇦🇺
Love Gun solo is pretty standard, but how its played has so much feeling in it. Only Aces style pulled it off like that. My favorite member since the beginning ('75)
Great Video with great potos.🤘👍
Thanks for uploading, Dr.
I just wish there was a Kiss album with the mixing/production of Ace's solo album. It's full of life, organic, with a punch, and GOOD SOUNDING, something that IMO 70s Kiss never achieved
Ace made kiss sound so great in the 70s all aces solo s smoked my 3 favorite solo s are strange ways I stole your love and making love kick ass
Ace is definitely the most influential musician to come out of KISS
My middle name Is Ace, cheers Dad.

3:49 Gene looks like someone has just stepped on his foot.😄

Kramer should have been there executive producer on all there albums , as Ezrin was to Alice
I got it in 75. Saw them for dressed to kill then alive. Ace stole the show every time I saw them. I never missed a 70s kiss show when they came my way. Ace is just Ace he makes no excuses because he doesn't give a shit.
Man...those kramer demos....were just sick....how aces solos went longer...were more loose....sorry haha, i love those demos, so damned good
Ace is the man! 🤘🏻 I'd take Ace & Eddie over Paul & Gene any day. I seen Frehley's Comet open for Iron Maiden at the Philadelphia Spectrum and after that legendary show I was glad Ace left Kiss.
Love me some Ace, just wish he aged better. Saw him a few weeks bad and it was just sad. But back in the day he was awesome.
Paul Thanley of KITH and black vinyl is best. Thanks for the commentary!
Kiss s best LPs were w Kramer

Great stuff Ralph. Hilarious as always
As a child, I loved KISS. But then I heard them.
I very much agree about vinyl, I only want black the way it's always been I'm not into different colors or illustrations on there.
Eddie Kramer...get producer ...! Spend 10 minutes with him. He’ll tell you so himself.
We all knew this, last great kiss album was Aces solo album
My first experience ever with kiss was a kid on a bicycle came up to me and showed me kiss trading cards. I liked Ace and Gene based on their make up only I never even heard one song from them. I picked up a'guitar because Ace Frehley not EVH and it's usually one of the 2
Awesome!
Ace just has to earn enough from record sales to make his IRS payments
I don't know why some of these producers don't push the needle on the recording boards and why they never double the guitar tracks record one guitar on two tracks then then repeat them pan two tracks hard right then two tracks hard left that would have been thick as shit I don't get it I'm talking seventies recording but they should have listened to the first Montrose album those are thick guitars
Ace is good, but he’s no Sammy Belcher 😂
Paul Stanley of kiiith lol
I believe Eddie Kramer over Gene Simmons and “Pawl Thtanley” any day.
I prefer clear vinyl. No color and it looks futuristic on a turntable. I hate picture disc though.
🤗🤗🤗
In the 70s every Halloween I went as Ace frehley and guitarist like a dimebag Darrell etc and the reason I started playing at the age of 12 very influential 🤘🤘🤘

Kiiiiissssss Wednesssssdaaaaaaayyyyyy!!!
ACE is and always will be my #1 pick for lead.
Ace rocks and so do you
Thanks brother
Stay Cool
Thank you! I believe Paul started with the star. And then did the bandit. But changed it back to the star for the first album.
Eddie's track record is legendary, but Malcolm Young didn't click with him. Eddie was demoing with AC/DC and tried to influence the band in order to get them US airplay.

The album that got away from Eddie? Highway to Hell.
Vinyl racist! 😂
As much as MFTE had its highlights, I'm glad Eddie Kramer didn't produce it. Best producer in the history of KISS.
Oh also for the kiss haters not once did I listen to the make up NOT ONCE
Ace was the Coolest Kiss Member.... E.O.R. ❤
"She" off of KISS ALIVE! ... ' nuff said.
Fun Fact = Ace and Wrestling Legend Kevin Sullivan were good friends. ❤😊
