Me too. Badly I could use a 1890’s American type being my layouts prototype used three different 4-4-0’s during 1910-1940 one known as old salty and one of the other two were potentially the latest running 4-4-0’s in the country, having rain all the way up to 1936 sadly being wrecked in kingsville tx.
As always great job and a huge fan since day one, question that I have always wondered about? Do you get these engines from the manufacture to test out for free and give back? Kinda like what motorweek does with new cars or do you buy them and keep them? Many thanks from your biggest fan Richard with Ride Auto
Most of my items are purchased through Trainworld. Very few items are provided and of those, I usually order a duplicate from a dealer because I'm unsure if they are actually going to be provided or not until products hit shelves. For example, so far this year I'm at over $16,000 spent on product reviews for items I either wanted for myself or for review and purchased. Less than 10% of the reviewed items are free. I have also borrowed stuff but that's usually for multiple multiple paint schemes.
BLI steam locomotives have always been expensive. Starting with the Santa Fe 2-8-2s they have become too expensive. I have a feeling that most will wait till this is discounted on Trainworld before they buy.
only problem with this Steam Engine is it's sounds as No one knows how it sounds in RL, yes there were films of it but No actual sounds were ever recorded on it so the whistle and bell and everything else is all made up. Just like the C&O M1 Turbine suffers the same problem
Thanks for your review of this locomotive. I have recently received this exact version of the E6.
Great vid. I picked up the SP version. While not accurate I just had to have it. Thanks for what you do.
Really appreciate what you do.
appreciate you all keeping me going with videos! without you, I would probably just hang it up and work on models without the video on.
I have the 460 in it’s modern appearance and I clocked the top speed at the highest speed step at 101 scale mph.
Good Video Mr James thanks for sharing…….Robert
Good looking train.
Amazing 😊
Awesome 😊
Where can I get it and what are the best sites to get model trains from
I wish they’d do a run of modern Americans like 1223

how come your video doesn't show the smoke unit burning up and everybody else's it does????????????????????
do they ship these with smoke fluid in them or did you add it but not show it
It comes with smoke fluid which lasts up to 20 minutes.

Hello James good review you should review atlas new EGSK coal cars just purchased me like 40 of them
The price seems a little steep, for H.O. scale...
@Phoenix I can see either the O scale, and the G scale Costing that, but a small H.O. engine...
Great locomotive hopefully it’ll be a little more in my budget within time
I just bought mine for $360 on sale which seems reasonable considering the level of detail. It really is a gorgeous loco.
James how many heritage units do u have in all
if you're talking heritage diesels in the mid 30's. If you're adding steam, a lot lot more. Probably close to 70 or 80.
Need updates on the layout
it's been at a standstill due to work, hope to resume progress soon.
That's a nice looking engine. Its a shame its a bli
