- Built in 1928 by Carl Frei, The Four Columns was a famous organ that played in the streets of Breda, Rotterdam and Amsterdam. This organ was given to the City of Holland, MI, USA in 1947 by the City of Amsterdam as a token of gratitude for the role the US played in liberating the Netherlands in WWII.
This organ is currently calling Windmill Island Gardens home and plays quarter past and quarter 'til each hour of park operation.

Restauratie in Nederland gewenst.
Missing notes badly!, needs a good overhaul now!
I don't think they have a proper organist to help maintain it. It was restored in the 90's, but only in appearance. I agree with you, though. If they take it to the shop and properly clean and repair it, this could be a beautiful instrument lasting another 100 years. (I noticed the drum hammers for the snare seemed a bit loose, too.)
@@ChanGraham I thought Luke Curtis is the one on site dealing with the maintenance...
@@theorganguy I was just a tourist there. I have no idea about any of that beyond a rudimentary understanding of air organs.
