Had a gap year in 2001 aged 40. A mate gave me a mix tape of all the stuff we'd danced to at the turn of the millennium as a going away present. Played this in tears looking up at Mt. Everest. About as good as it gets.
❤ a masterpiece of trance music. When I think of trance, is this song amongst few typical others. 🎉when I need to make other people who don't listen to Trance understand what I mean by trance, I let them listen to this song. 😊
Yeah great comment. The pre 9/11, pre cell phone days. 90s into the first year or so of the 2000s. Good times. I graduated HS in 2000... Now I'm friggin' 37 and it's 2020. Honestly, where does the time go. Those memories really only exists in the minds of those that experienced that time. Nostalgia baby.

Listening this version since 2000 . Still listening today while i have millions of problems in my head while remembering the past and how good the time was back then. Epic track in all versions but this is top of top in my list of all songs. I rly hope everyone is ok and having fun peace

Absolute banger! Ive got goose pimples all over me, Passion in Coleville every saturday night for Trance nights in the early 00s were amazing and Sarahs voice used to take me on a journey i cant even begin to describe. truely amazing xxx
Finally, my favourite mix. I heard this version over 24 years ago and only today found, in my opinion, the best mix of this amazing song. Wonderful and thank you.
Sarah was such a great singer. Her vocals made many good songs great. Her high notes lent them self's to trance/house better than just about anyone. In saying that some of the female dance vocalists are brilliant but don't get the recognition or money they deserve IMO.
Had this on a cd. I’d listen to it on the coach back to work on a Sunday eve after a weekend with family. Weird mix of nostalgia, sadness and joy all in one. Music like this does something to me I can’t explain
+andreskizzo i can't get over the fact it's now 15 years old already and nearly 16. where has the time gone. still one of my most favourites. the tiesto version is good as well. :)

IMO this is the REAL definitive remix of Silence. It's perfectly emblematic of the best of the absolute peak of trance in terms of both quality and popularity - the fantastic year 1999. Trance has never been as good as it was that year and likely never will be again - and I'm not saying that because I got to party during that time (I was only 7 years old at the time), rather I've listened to literally thousands of trance tracks and remixes from the very beginnings around 1991 to the present day, and it is absolutely clear that trance was at it's absolute best from 1996 to 2002, with 1999 being the pinnacle of what trance was and could be. I would love nothing more than a return to the trance music of that time, but I just don't see it happening because good trance tracks require time to develop sonically and programatically, but people don't have the attention span for nuance and development anymore, hence why we will never have 15 minute tracks like "The Bell Song" ever again, or even the norm for late 90s dance music - roughly 7min 30sec - and that is a shame.
A napokban láttam először a klipjét. A dalt többször hallottam már, de fogalmam sem volt, hogy ki énekli, mi a címe, milyen a klipje. Nagyon örülök, hogy rátaláltam. Gyönyörű a dal, és a videó is.
The BEST trippy song of all time!!
More euphoric than trippy! If you want trippy, check out Psykovsky, especially his album 'Tanetsveta'. :D

Classic trance
I'll never get tired of this masterpiece!!
Every weekend in Ireland, this gets requested at least once on the radio, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Such a classic of its genre.
What radio station bro?
That's lovely, no one in Canada cares about trance. All our radios play is commercial poop
Yip hahaha!!!
All the radio stations in Belfast do club classics on the weekends and same i might even drive a little longer because of it 😂

Sarah McLachlan's collaboration on this is simply a dream. Her voice goes REALLY well with this remix.
No one knows who is the prettiest woman shown in the video ! She is a so important element of this video.
Forget the Tiësto remix. This is superior in every way imaginable. This is really one of the best remixes I think I've ever heard, honestly.

That I'd get caught up
When the rage in me subsides
In this white wave

Passion chokes the flower
Till she cries no more
Possesing all the beauty
Hungry still for more
