The Tower Troop Chest is a bigger issue than you would think. You automatically get the cards for the Princess Tower from the level up chest when your King level goes up. Which means the Princess Tower only exists in the Tower Troop Chest for the sole reason of not letting you get the Cannoneer.

They didnt necessarily ruin the game they just made it so that you need to incorporate actual strategy into your decks to adapt to the changes at the tower, so it’s not that your deck is decent it’s that you need to adapt the deck to be able to counter act the tower. But I do see where your coming from here

If you have a deck that's either hard countered or very impeded by a tower troop, that is another matchup regardless of their deck that could prove annoying. The different crown towers promote a more defensive playstile, so to make them worth while. Canoneer is the biggest example, where you have to run archers, bats, dart goblin, and/or musketeer or the canoneer may just be worthless, but the other troops pick up the slack. That forces other decks to try and adapt to multiple crown towers, and if you use hog rider for example, just 1 elixir skeletons can block you out with canoneer. Overall it mostly makes games more frustrating to play if just their tower counters you much more than normal, and sometimes you can't build around all 3 towers. Just like you can't counter every deck in the game, at some point your deck won't work against *every crown towers*. That's going to be the point where people start getting really frustrated
@@clockguy7647 nah dagger duchess straight up killed so many cards and playstyles. goblin barrel, skele barrel, miner, wallbreakers. like half of the win conditions in the game dropped to 40% or lower winrate as soon as she got added in the game. the only strategy is abuse boring ass decks like giant,lava hound,golem. cycle and bait decks are completely dead, its no strategy at all just spam a deck with a giant type card
I dont dislike the idea of tower troops but the issue for me comes here: I have opened about 15 or so tower troop chests and have pulled cannoneer exactly 1 time. 1. Im almost king tower 12 and im sitting with a level 8 cannoneer whos just vompletely unusable becausr the game refuses to let me pull it. Thre only time ive ever used it was in 1 challange where everything was tournament standard and cannoneer was slightly better than princess tower

Getting a tower troop one after another is a bad idea since their balance revolves around Princess Tower. It's still too early for 3rd tower troop. It's been only 2 months so far
My problem with tower troops is that it makes the game more about luck with matchups then skill. If I match against a tower troop that's good against my deck, there's nothing I can do because you cant "counter" a tower since its technically a 0 elixir defense.
Simple solution: Classic Mode - no evolutions, all cards lvl 11, princess tower(and maybe no champions but idk about this one). They could add a competive version of it with great rewards. Also you said that tower troops will be too complicated for new players but just remember that they are unlocked on certain arena, so you have to get some expirience to unlock them, also if like uniqe tower troop will came to game it will be prob legendary and unlocked on high arena so new players won't have to worry about it
See, I’m okay with Evolutions, and different levels of cards. I’m not okay with a fundamental change to the base game after 8 years. It’s the equivalent of Overwatch switching from 6v6 to 5v5. Everything in the game was built around the princess tower, and now that’s changed.
The release of more Common Tower Troops will be PROBLEMATIC because of the drop rate. You upgrade them the same as normal cards so Common Tower Troops require 12,086 cards to max out. In one calendar year, the Tower Troop Chests will give you about 2330 Common Tower Troops and 770 Epic Tower Troops. It will take OVER 5 YEARS to collect enough cards to max out a Common Tower Troop (and that's already assuming you get only the specific cards).
Clash royale has gone too far off the deep end and its just objectivley a bad game now. It used to be fun, but now theyce just added all these overpowered cards and awful deals that people have to buy otherwise they literally cannot progress. Ive been playing the game for 5 YEARS and i only have a few decks leveled up, no evolutions, no champion above level 12 and im in mid ladder with 0 chance of winning because everyone elses cards are simply stronger/less balanced than mine are
Honestly, the cannoneer is completely fine. It’s a fair trade off that he is better against tanks, but worse against swarms. You get a balanced choice. The real issue is the damn dagger duchess, who is basically good against everything. It lets the player using her get away with too much, like leaving a balloon unchecked.
Cannoneer is actually well executed idea unlike duchess, because while cannoneer makes it harder for tank and beat down players, it doesn't kill entire deck archetypes unlike that damn duchess who killed log bait and cycle decks. Tower troop should be strong against certain deck archetypes, not kill those archetypes and make them unusable. It's the first problem, but second as you mentioned it's extremely low skill choice that destroys both mini tanks and swarms with almost no drawback whatsoever if you can play it right. It's so unfair and frustrating against that if your opponent over commits on defense or sets tank on back lane, you can't punish them for it with most of cheap swarm/mini tank cards, balloon for example. Dagger duchess killed deck diversity and now almost everyone has to play damn tanks and game got so slow and boring. The fact that 99% of cards were balanced in princess tower interactions and cannoneer didn't shake up game balance that much, but dagger duchess literally deleted two deck archetypes from the game. I am log bait player and while I can still often win against opponents with dagger duchess, the amount of effort and strategizing I have to put into it, far surpasses what my opponents have to do to deal similar damage to my towers. Even if keep countering them for positive elixir trades, I can't punish them for that because of damn duchess

It's useless to get princess in the tower chests, it'll never be enought to level it up before the king. But i guess the Cannoner can't be the only option, but the rates aren't that great, though when you get em it's a lot of cards.

I think it’s not necessarily ruining the game I think that, just like every card before it, they just need some tie to settle into the game as we’ve had princess for the entire game, while these new cards have only had a couple months to settle in and for people to figure them out and how to counteract the towers, but that’s just what I think.

For quite a while I had lower level tower princess compared to the king tower on my og account that I revisited. Disliked that a lot. But never saw someone with towers with higher level than the king has
I hate cannoneer since it is so strong. Like, at first everybody thought it sucked. Now we know its strengths, and if people have even a basic understanding of its strengths, it is like an unbreakable defense sometimes.
Personally I don't see the problem, I don't think complexity is a bad thing. Cannoneer is without question harder to get, but the main problem is that the cannoneer is an epic card, there are currently only two tower troops in the game and the other one is a common, so the odds are massively in favor of you getting a princess, but that will probably change once more tower troops of different rarities are added. Plus the biggest problem is the tower troop chest itself being laughably bad, it's a pretty rare chest, but 99% of the time you are going to get a princess, which is just dead weight in the loot pool, that should also change once more tower troops are added though
i agree but the tower troop chest is 1 in 9 chests or1 in 7 chests depending on how far you are in the game. also you can now buy them in the season shop which is great because you can now level up the cannoneer
gonna be real with you, the tower troops by themselves isnt really that big of a deal. They in general make the game more diverse and thats all I really want, more deck variety and less phoenix/little prince spam
Tower troops are not the issue. I think they are a pretty good addition overall and adds a lot of variety in the game. My issue is evos, I’m ftp and I already have a lvl 13 dagger duchess. Evos are extremely hard to get ftp, and are essential for pushing trophies. The only real game mode ftp players can play is classic challenges and events.
By the time f2p people unlock the tower its nerfed. This shit is dumb af and pay to win lol. If you don't spend you don't unlock it on time. Mine's still level 11, same as my princess tower. I find evos aren't as bad to unlock since most of them are honestly mid but the double evos is some whale shit along with the tower troops

If there are more ways I don’t know as I don’t play nearly as often. But you’re right about Supercell adding in new cards and then nerfing them to the ground once ppl spend money. But that has happened with every damn card, not just tower troops. Tower troops add more diversity and can define you’re entire deck. Supercell just needs to stop being greedy.

I think there should be a base level or something of that measure, so that when you are king level 10 or smt like that, the new troop cant fall behind that level, or something of that nature

Here's the thing I don't understand about his video. He already stated how nearly everyone felt about the cannoneer, no one thinks he's better than the princess, so why would anyone want to actually use him for their decks. Wouldn't it be pay to lose? He's not stronger than the princess he fits a different playing style, that's what makes tower troops great is they can now adapt with your playing style is you want but if you don't want that then you can stick with the princess which you always get the amount of cards needed to upgrade her to the king tower's level through king's path or whatever. So you don't even have to pay for the princess, no one wants the cannoneer, how is it pay to win?

The only time the cannoneer has more health is when both tower troops are at King level (princess level 1 and cannoneer level 6

It’s used way more then princess in top meta. They’re not reworking it to a normal card or scraping tower troops. Cannoneer is meta and here to stay

I think it’s not necessarily ruining the game I think that, just like every card before it, they just need some tie to settle into the game as we’ve had princess for the entire game, while these new cards have only had a couple months to settle in and for people to figure them out and how to counteract the towers, but that’s just what I think.

For quite a while I had lower level tower princess compared to the king tower on my og account that I revisited. Disliked that a lot. But never saw someone with towers with higher level than the king has
I hate cannoneer since it is so strong. Like, at first everybody thought it sucked. Now we know its strengths, and if people have even a basic understanding of its strengths, it is like an unbreakable defense sometimes.

Personally I don't see the problem, I don't think complexity is a bad thing. Cannoneer is without question harder to get, but the main problem is that the cannoneer is an epic card, there are currently only two tower troops in the game and the other one is a common, so the odds are massively in favor of you getting a princess, but that will probably change once more tower troops of different rarities are added. Plus the biggest problem is the tower troop chest itself being laughably bad, it's a pretty rare chest, but 99% of the time you are going to get a princess, which is just dead weight in the loot pool, that should also change once more tower troops are added though
i agree but the tower troop chest is 1 in 9 chests or1 in 7 chests depending on how far you are in the game. also you can now buy them in the season shop which is great because you can now level up the cannoneer

gonna be real with you, the tower troops by themselves isnt really that big of a deal. They in general make the game more diverse and thats all I really want, more deck variety and less phoenix/little prince spam

Tower troops are not the issue. I think they are a pretty good addition overall and adds a lot of variety in the game. My issue is evos, I’m ftp and I already have a lvl 13 dagger duchess. Evos are extremely hard to get ftp, and are essential for pushing trophies. The only real game mode ftp players can play is classic challenges and events.

By the time f2p people unlock the tower its nerfed. This shit is dumb af and pay to win lol. If you don't spend you don't unlock it on time. Mine's still level 11, same as my princess tower. I find evos aren't as bad to unlock since most of them are honestly mid but the double evos is some whale shit along with the tower troops

@@ironman1458 it’s nearly impossible to get evos without spending money. The only way is through challenges and I think the lucky drop. If there are more ways I don’t know as I don’t play nearly as often. But you’re right about Supercell adding in new cards and then nerfing them to the ground once ppl spend money. But that has happened with every damn card, not just tower troops. Tower troops add more diversity and can define you’re entire deck. Supercell just needs to stop being greedy.
I like the tower troops idk what ur talking about. Id much rather have 2 or three tower troops than 15 evolutions that are over powered. Also at what point will they stop adding evolutions? There are too many of them.

I think there should be a base level or something of that measure, so that when you are king level 10 or smt like that, the new troop cant fall behind that level, or something of that nature

Here's the thing I don't understand about his video. He already stated how nearly everyone felt about the cannoneer, no one thinks he's better than the princess, so why would anyone want to actually use him for their decks. Wouldn't it be pay to lose? He's not stronger than the princess he fits a different playing style, that's what makes tower troops great is they can now adapt with your playing style is you want but if you don't want that then you can stick with the princess which you always get the amount of cards needed to upgrade her to the king tower's level through king's path or whatever. So you don't even have to pay for the princess, no one wants the cannoneer, how is it pay to win?
You said yourself it lets you adapt your deck to different playing styles and then said no one wants it. They're objectively pay to win and if you don't believe that after seeing dagger duchess I don't know what else to tell you
