A wonderful performance of this Mozart masterpiece. For me, Julie Fuchs´ rendition of Et Incarnatus est is the highlight, Her command of the sotto voce is amazing.
I start rehearsing this marvelous work on January 24, 2022 with our concert in April! What a blessing to have the privilege of being part of this masterpiece.
I've been listening to this all day long. Whenever someone tries to get me to take my headphones out, I literally hiss at them like a very mean cat. That is how miraculous this music is.
My sincerest thanks to all those involved in this magnificent performance: the soloists Julie Fuchs, Ann Hallenberg, Benjamin Hulett, Markus Werba; the conductor Laurence Equilbey; and the members of the Orchestra Insula and the Choir Accentus. This is by far the greatest rendition of Mozart's Great Mass in C minor I have had the delight of listening to!
A third and a final comment from me on this great performance --- the lady conductor is, in my view, among the greatest; she is a tremendous source of strength and feelings, a vital binding force bringing this heavenly music to its ultimate perfection. I am truly grateful. Thank you.
No one mentions anything about the duet or trio. Some of my favorite moments 18:40 - 18:46 , 28:19 - 28:30 There's something so desperate and plaintive in them both. Never fails to move me.
The three ladies, the two singers and the conductor, are exceptionally gifted, beautiful, and very outstanding. The orchestra and chorus are enchanting . Overall a superb performance -- does credit to the genius of Mozart.
agreed! Ann Hallenberg sings effortlessly here, and every pitch, every note is beautifully and artfully executed. This is an extraordinarily good performance.
the joy and dedication of every one on that stage is overwhelming !! I am in tears most of the performance.I never heard a more moving performance of this glorious music !
Julie Fuchs, such a beautiful lady ... The last soprano who touched me this much with the Christe Eleison solo part is Barbara Bonney under Sir Eliott Gardiner ...
Wow!!! Truly beautiful and wonderful performance. The vocal quality, instrumental detail, nuance and style - all wonderful. Brava to the conductor. The joy in the ensemble’s faces is not usual and must surely stem from leadership. The best performance of this work imo. Really fine from all.
It is a thrill and an honour to hear and see Julie Fuchs on stage. Quite obviously, she loves singing and her performance brings a tear to my eye. The beauty of Et Incarnatus Est (beginning at 37:28) gives me chills.
This is truly a marathon of endurance for the hardcore listener. The joy being not at the finish-line but with every step and note. The Bach influence is a delightfully noticeable.
Toujours merveilleux.
Soulful and serene and intense! What a truly marvelous performance - Mozart would love it if he were here. Laurence has complete control of this complex composition and it's truly an act of pure beauty!
Exemplary performance and really enjoyed the "traditional" instruments. The players all seemed to really enjoy performing this wonderful piece and the conductor was wonderful
This entire performance gives one goose bump after another. The trombone and french horn-work in Cum Sanctu Spiritu is..... WOW! I am really appreciative for this upload. Thank you. BRIAN
+Raymond Deane Correct. However professor Levin has restored an astonishing part of it using recently found overflow scores, though there are still blank spaces.
That was a truly delightful performance with terrific fidelity in all aspects of the piece. The Credo to this work (33:50) is so noble and uplifting. Great stuff!
Great the expertise of Lawrence Equilbey, impressive the performance of individual singers, all the time under her supervision, and the effective coordination of the choir. Synchronization all the time with the orchestra. Eloquent her body language, it is a kind of embodiment with the piece.
Other than the perfection of the Soprano who sang this music in the movie Amadeus, the delicacy of this Soprano's phrasing, her carefully placed trills, and turns are spot on, and perfect! And when she sings the Kyrie, starting at 2:51 to 5:55....the pureness and absolute beauty of it...it's moving evidence that G-d really spoke through Mozart.
Not only that You can suffer the greatest sorrow, the greatest sadness in the most absolute and overwhelming loneliness or the most exultant and splendid joy and optimism in the deepest, purest and simplest perfection of the beauty of their music
@@yurastoyan5973Mozart reserved the beauty and the perfection to his music, when we are birn with such a gift we don't need to please the aristocratic gallery.
A wonderful performance of this Mozart masterpiece. For me, Julie Fuchs´ rendition of Et Incarnatus est is the highlight, Her command of the sotto voce is amazing.
Perhaps the greatest piece of sacred music ever written.
Bach's passions and oratorios from Haydn and Händel much more significant

Julie Fuchs... The peace itself when singing Et incarnatus. Beautiful singing, brava!
That is the best part of this master work of Mozart, and it is indeed performed to perfection.
Meanwhile, you're beautiful, Catalina.
👏👏
This Kyrie is among the most beautiful pieces Mozart, and hence in music history, has ever written! Thank you so much W. A. Mozart.
Heaven!
rafaelsantosx
and the Credo
that's very kind of you
Celestial, simply celestial.
This chorus is out of this world
The solemnity and comfort of this chorus are unrivaled, and outclassing
My sincerest thanks to all those involved in this magnificent performance: the soloists Julie Fuchs, Ann Hallenberg, Benjamin Hulett, Markus Werba; the conductor Laurence Equilbey; and the members of the Orchestra Insula and the Choir Accentus.
This is by far the greatest rendition of Mozart's Great Mass in C minor I have had the delight of listening to!
I have never seen a happier ensemble than this. Their energy is so joyful. Then the music.
Very moving, Mozart truly had a direct line to God. I picture hearing this music when I enter heaven.
If the genius of the creator of the universe was ever expressed in mortal form, it was through Mozart.
Se for para o céu, não?
"Laudamus te" is my favorite. Great interpretation of the love of God.
senza parole....lacrime in gola
i really like Soprano Julie Fuchs: her voice is so powerful and full of vigor
A third and a final comment from me on this great performance --- the lady conductor is, in my view, among the greatest; she is a tremendous source of strength and feelings, a vital binding force bringing this heavenly music to its ultimate perfection. I am truly grateful. Thank you.
Who is the lady conductor? I would like to find more recordings with her conducting.
This is a beautiful performance, from a Great Master, brought through a Concert Master and Symphony and Chorus, to my hungry spirit. Thanks
Of the greatest and most flawless performances I have ever heard of this work.
Best performance I have ever heard of this sublime and heavenly masterpiece. Thanks to all.
mozart was a miracle
Magnificent.....Pure Mozart and elegant!
I will be singing this July 10, 2017 with the UMS Choral Union in Ann Arbor, MIchigan USA!
Martin Slabey Best wishes on your performance
It was wonderful. We had 255 choristers, being led by the UMS Choral Union Director, Scott Hanonian.

And for one thing to say.......Ann Hallenberg "Laudamus Te..." Heaven!!!!
agreed! Ann Hallenberg sings effortlessly here, and every pitch, every note is beautifully and artfully executed. This is an extraordinarily good performance.
God speaks through the genius of Mozart! "Laudamus te" brings tears to you eyes. The Great Mass, unfinished!!
The marvelous Mozart work is on our 2022 concert schedule. I can hardly weight!
This is the best performance of the great mass in c minor

From 37:20, the performance of Ms Julia Fuchs is perhaps unequaled in its beauty and elegance.
There is a subtle albeit important difference between "Fucks" and "Fuchs".

Sorry for the error. Your own insinuation is regrettable.

"I love the way Mozart wrote the solo part for Constanze, rising Phoenix-like from the mass" - David Hazlewood on Kyrie.
Some artists focus on music, Some on lyrics so I focused on both
I'm Truly Amazing!
Amadeus Mozart yes you did!
Fantastik performance. Real Mozart sound, and a conductor in control and espreses of all nuances
Who is the conductor? I would love to find other videos of her.

Beauty "Laudamus te" I ever heard afloat on the string wave with perfect rhythm.
Ann Hallenberg also.
For me, an even greater work than the Requiem.
I would equal them... just too bad he didn't finish them
+Raymond Deane Considering Requiem was not finished by Mozart, he stoped on the half.
+rafaelsantosx He wrote more than half. But in fact the C minor Mass is also unfinished.

I didn't know that. I'm more fan of requiem because its more dramatic and intense.

Arleen Auger's 'Et Incarnatus Est' (with Bernstein) is my favourite but now I have to add Fuchs' to my list. Merci beaucoup, amikohono, for this post.
A Kyrie, Cum Sancto Spiritu, and Credo in unum Deum to die for.
The laudamus te is typical Mozart magic ;)
not that it's a bad aria, it just happens to be the least interesting part of this piece

Magnífica ejecución de esta obra Genial.
Interprétation divine .
It's impressive how Et Incarnatus sound like Bach, but with Mozart's particularities. Amazing!
One of the most enjoyable. Lovely voices
you can go to Mozart with a broken heart, and he will lift your burdens, and not judge you.
