Angela, I have recently been binge stalking your You Tube videos. You have given me the courage to try quilting my quilts. I plan on starting small on scraps, so that I don’t ruin my 20 year old pieced tops that have been in my quilt coffin,🤣 or the new one that hasn’t even made it to the quilt coffin. I have even ordered a quilting ruler foot so that I can try ruler quilting, along with your rulers of corse. To be honest I have ordered few more things too… such as a couple cases of quilting juice to keep my courage up😉🤪🤣 and a straight jacket for when juice has worn off. Seriously, I love your videos, and your encouragement. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and talent! 💕
I would like to see this included in a future challenge as well. Maybe on fillings negative space or a whole cloth quilt. I look forward each week to your Thursday live chat although I usually have to watch it later. You are an excellent teacher and “give” us so much information to help us improve our quilting. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I think it is beautiful feather that looks very hard to accomplish, how-ever when broken down in sections becomes very manageable. You make it look easy. I would love to see it included in future quilt challenges. Thank you for sharing your quilting skills with us.
Your ability to break down steps really is helping me do a better feather. Even the one I just drew as you broke things down looks pretty good. I love BIG FEATHERS. Thank you Angela
After practicing on a LCD tablet for a couple of weeks, finally worked up the nerve to try it on a quilt. I am really surprised at how well it turned out. Thank you for your great videos.
Angela!!! Thank you. Just love this option and can’t wait to play with it. Please include it in a design so we can learn more!!! Can’t wait for next week and ribbon candy 🎉.
Angela! Thank you for this tutorial. It came just in time. I've watched it 3 times already & have nearly completed the border, including set-in & corner triangles on a queen size quilt, hopefully in time for the quilt show!🤞
I love this beautiful long swirling feather and your quilting on Tula's quilting is out of this world. I will definitely try this on my next quilt. Thanks for the instructions Angela!
Thank you for going back and redoing this video. We all appreciate all the time you spend explaining things to us and encouraging us. I would certainly like to see more feathers in a future challenge.
Loved this feather, and definitely would love to incorporate more into challenges. Would love to see a challenge with a quilt with a lot of negative space, I find negative space challenging. Thank you for your videos, I have learned so much.
Yes, yes yes! Include this on future challenges! I LOVE this variation and I love all the different ways to do feathers. I have a book or two on feathers (not yours) and find them disappointing because all the feathers are exactly the same ...they just cover putting them in different shaped blocks. Personally, I want my feathers to be different and unique, like yours are. ❤
So elegant and beautiful. This will definitely required some practice sandwiches to master before trying on a real quilt. After finishing the feather quilt-along, I'm up for the challenge. In my opinion, this technique should be taught in an intermediate or advanced class.
I'm looking for ideas for a medallion quilt I'm piecing and I think this swirling feather design might work really well in part of it. Thanks for all your inspiration Angela.
I love this look and would definitely use it on a quilt! So beautiful if I could just make mine look more like yours. Having it broken down really helps. Thanks for another great live chat!
My quilting is improving and that encourages me to keep practicing. Your chats n vids are my springboards. Without you I would still be straight line quilting instead of FMQ. Thank you so much!
Absolutely include the Swirling Feather in a future challenge. I love feathers, all kinds of feathers! After watching this video I get making the plumes, connecting additional stems , but find I need more practice with widening the stems with echoing. A challenge would force me to just do it! 😉
Yes please include these feathers in future challenges. Love them, love them. Would also love to see a challenge on quilting negative space and also on scenic panels like the national parks panels that you did. Thanks Angela. You are the best!
Angela, my quilting has improved so much since I started viewing your videos and following along with the challenges. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I look forward to the next one. Sound volume has been an issue. Normally I can watch with a volume of about 13 but your videos need to be at volume 45-55. Don’t know if there is any fix. Thank you so much for all you do. Laura
I LOVE these feathers--I'm having so much fun with doing my Fabulous Feathers panel (I know I'm behind). I was scared to start. I'm like you, I want to put feathers on everything, but have learned it isn't worth the effort on busy fabrics.
Thanks for this. Drawing the design out several times has been soooo helpful to learn all the different feather techniques. “Until it clicks” was the magic phrase. Still practicing and will add this to the practice.
I loved watching this video. I will definitely use this in my quilting because I love feathers. I am looking forward to your next challenge. I am learning to use a HQ Avante long arm. Your Fabulous Feathers challenge is my next project. I usually watch your live chats more than one time, sometimes 2-3 times.
I tried these on my Fabulous Feathers Challenge quilt! It was fun when it finally clicked 😊ANY CHANCE you’d be willing to make a tip sheet for these Swirling Feathers???❤️
I love this feather design! Thank you…Your tutorials are what inspired me to just try quilting feathers. My feathers continue to improve with practice. And yes, I started on very busy fabric so my mistakes are well hidden. Soon I will graduate to the solid negative spaces. Confidence continues to grow. Thanks for the encouragement.
Having done "Fabulous Feathers" (and learned a lot BTW!), this was a great addendum to that tutorial challenge. Takes what you've already shown us up a notch!!
I loved this feather! I did it on my daughter's quilt after you did the first live on it! Then I did some thread painting on it. It turned out beautiful! Every loved it! Keep the feathers coming!!
Loved this. I am a newer quilter and have taught myself through your videos. I look for a challenge and this is a doozy! Thank you. I’d like to see videos or a challenge on fillers please.
This was fascinating and I am going to load up something and just go for it?! I’d love to see you address/do this on a longarm and address how you stabilize and move the quilt when feathers are bigger than you throat space, I tried this on a smaller scale on the Heaven Sent quilt and it was a show stopper!
These feathers are absolutely beautiful, I do want to know if the feathers design is majorly for solid fabrics only? Thank you for taking the time to explain it so well considering the practical problems that would naturally arise while quilting these designs.
Una clase magistral 👏 👌 aprendi mucho contigo,en mi máquina doméstica hago magias 🙂 👏👏👏gracias por la paciencia de explicar todo tan bien ,un saludo desde Valencia 🤗
Your quilting belongs in an art gallery ❤️💕❤️💕. Cheers 😍❤️💕😘🥰😊
I love the swirl feather! It's so elegant and flowing. Excellent tutorial and video - thank you so much!

Love feathers.
Hi from Hopkinton, Mass.
Any chance of a pdf of instructions for swirling feathers
Any practice diagrams?
Was the sound way down just for me? I reloaded it and everything... I have my volume up to 100
Hello Kathy
Loved it but would like to see you doing it on a domestic machine. Instead of drawing on white board please!
Selamlar sevgiler 👍👍💐💐
Couldn’t hear volume was too soft
Love it💕💕💕🥰
