And that's why I love it so much.
Not even a Canon boy and this was the video I was waiting for once I saw the release. Larry makes these cameras look like an artists tool
There are photographers who climb over barriers to get as close as possible to the action and there is Larry, who puts on a helmet and films out the window of the drift vehicle.

I just love the way Larry finds these maniacs (in a good way) with their super bad ass car garages. those are my favorites to watch ill probably never be able to make my Lexus as cool as I want but this channel inspires me
There will always be a place for still action photos in sports particularly motorsports. In many ways it captures action better than video where details are missed that occur in blink of eye
This is amazing, I am also a Car Lover and a Photographer and let me tell you, this whole video, even with the bad parts of the weather and all of that, looks like a dream job.

Really enjoyed this Larry. Looks like my R3 is safe as my primary body still, but glad to see some notable improvements like the dual CF xpress slots and video improvements. Hoping canon gives us an update to give r3 users that battery percentage!

Cameras are so good now, it's a great time to be alive as a photographer. This is simply incredible. And I now await what Sony will do with the A1 to compete, as I am a Sony shooter (started my career with Canon EOS though).

I commented earlier Larry and still think it's not cheating. I was a little disappointed and wanted to see more of the cars and event. But someone commented on my comment I told me about the event. So I watched. Yo, the in car shots are twice as crazy as I first thought. I always like your videos, guess I'm just stuck on the nut n bolt stuff. I think I like the cars more than the events.... Still not cheating Larry.

No, I still use EF lenses with it as well
Hey Larry, or anyone really, I am getting into photography as a hobby, I have a rebel T6 and I am looking for an upgrade and I would like to stick to the EF mount to keep the cost down, I do a lot of nature stuff and a little bit of car stuff. A large percentage is at night, what do you recommend?

Hows the resolution on the r1? Does the 24mp make a difference in how you shoot and does it feel like it’s a limitation?
It's not cheating using that camera setup. That's what's so great about technology. Everyday people are advancing old tech, that's what's ist all about. Weather it's cars, cameras, or new toothbrushes it's all about advancing the tech and now people see you using this camera setup, I'm sure many are to follow. Great video even though video was about the camera. The action kinda sucked, and we didn't get to learn anything about the event or the cars. I kept watching hoping for something about the cars and event. Didn't happen. But ok, my day continues, never the less.
The event is called Drift Appalachia. There's a bunch of videos out from some big youtubers showcasing the cars and the roads.

Jared Polin had an interesting take on this new camera. It's more of an R3 MKii than a R1 "flagship." only 24MP, only 40 FPS and heavier than the R3, not lighter. He did comment AF is the best he's ever experienced with a camera.
Do you guys think a Sony A7 III would be a good platform to start on for all around use (auto related photography, recording, vlog)?

Gear doesnt matter , but . .
doesnt give a pass to canon to have the top body be upstaged by the R5 mark 2 , the older A1 or the z8/z9 combo
Upstaged how? This body is insane, if you miss a shot it's your damn fault. 😂
@@LarryChenPhoto not about the af but about the overall specs and value it offers. Cameras have gotten so good that an entry zve10 or a cheap canon r100 will do AF accurate enough for pro work.
I dont mind the r1 but its not as impresive as it should be being a 1 series , esp when the sony a1 is still looming with it , idk maybe just expecting more out of a 1 series considering the r3 is not far off of r1.
Regarding speed , the a1 keeps up with most speed focused cameras even though its 50mp
@@JJARCHIEif you look in the past the 1 series has always been about durability, reliability and speed. This is leaps better than the R3. It was hard to give it back 😂
Overpriced. I have been using a D800 for the last 12 years, still to this day, nothing compares to it. So funny to hear Larry talk about the resolution of the viewfinder, D800 is a Pentaprism, nothing will ever top that especially if you are a viewfinder / manual focus diehard like myself.

The specs are still not flagship worthy ... really disappointed after these lofty promises from canon. Not the allrounder as the A1 or Z9
The 1 series of bodies have always been about speed and getting the photo. It's never been about all out megapixels.
@@LarryChenPhoto that's absolutely correct but canon advertised this as the best flagship camera ever made. And to finally have an answer against Sony and Nikon and no single word before about aiming it to a "small" specialized group of photographers. It simply was communicated incorrectly and now they get disappointment and criticism all over the internet - earned. But hey your video is great and your pictures are awesome - as always :-)
