Why does he always sing high notes with a rasp in the songs Chinese Democracy and Nightrain, and he really sounds almost like a young Axl, and Mickey sings high notes in the songs Civil War, You Could Be Mine.....Why?

Chinese Democracy doesn’t have any high notes live, Nightrain has them sprinkled in and there’s not a lot to it. It’s easier for him to use it in short phrases than to sing like that for over five minutes straight. Especially harder when you’re 60+

I've been asking this question for some time... Maybe he enjoys it more doing it at those songs, I don't know.

because in chinese democracy and nightrain he uses a different part of his register. Its not a high note, its just a raspy low note (maybe a non fucked up part of his vocal chords). It gives him rasp in exchange of less range. Just listen to the final part of patience. He starts singing with this raspy register and then, when he needs to go higher, he brings the "mickey voice" (usually by the "oooh I need you" part). Same thing for nightrain: Lower register parts, sings low and raspy. Higher parts (like the "NEVER TO RETUUUUURRRRNN) he changes his register to the higher, cleaner one (just like patience). This technique is good for short phrases but your throat gets pretty dry very quickly if you abuse it.
As we can see here in 1:30 he is using this low raspy register, but as his throat dries, he quickly returns to the clean register in 1:35 in order not the crack his voice

1:30 exactly with this technique he sings the song You Could Be Mine Live Era '87-'93

@@TheGabrielfaro sama with the last part of don't cry he goes from the low raspy voice to the mickey voice at the end
