And now that Omega is released. So many "codes" released. All of those songs about The Emerald Tablets. Made me very happy. Plus Kingdom of Heaven Part III. Anthem for Humanity, especially since The Great Pandemonium in 2020.
I first listened to victims of contingency thinking epica would be one of those bands you like 1 or 2 songs and then forget about after a week but boy I was wrong now I love the whole quantum enigma album including bsides and the epica attack on titan and phantom agony
I've seen Epica 15x since 2009... And the first time I saw them on a flyer for the night after a show I was currently at, I was like... they BETTER be Epic. But back then, I had no idea who they were. The first song I remember hearing was Dance of Fate. Hooked. Definitely one of my top 5 bands - and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Here we are 17 years later (first found em in 2007).
One of my favorite songs on the album. Top 6 6. The Quantum Enigma - Kingdom Of Heaven Part 2 - 5. Victims Of Contingency 4. Sense Without Sanity - The Impervious Code - 3. Mirage Of Verity 2. Memento 1. Banish Your Illusion
Its the only one I got from them, and then then the one and only band that I worship is Sirenia. I got both versions and the tshirt yeah yeah I got two copies
the title track of this album is actually the weakest among the title tracks in their rest of albums. I would prefer Omen, Reverence and in all conscience.
lol I gave up on trying to make a top 5 or 10 list or anything like that. love waay to many of them. absolutely cannot pick favorites xD.so obviously every song is my fav.
I PLAY thrash metal and have loved Epica since I heard Kingdom of Heaven - well "modern" Epica since 2009. An actual symphonic METAL band, unlike Nightwish, Within Temptation and their clones. Sweet riffs, tasty solos and great contrast between choirs, Simone's falsetto/mid & Mark's growls.
Or people who were peeved that they didn't just release an 18-track album and be done with it? :P Seriously, I would pay for that every goddamned time.
@Florin Tacu maybe someone like me who thinks the message is new age and cheap and cares only about the music more than the lyrics. Someone who when compares this album with others thinks its a rip off.
If you are looking for the uncompressed copy, I found it here. It is in FLAC format 16 Bit/44.1 --------> us.7digital.com/artist/epica/release/the-quantum-enigma-1/ So happy to ditch the MP3 version of this; digital only bonus tracks are bullshit, it should have been put on disc :)
Good song overall. Better than some other songs on The Quantum Enigma... The chorus is pretty cool, but the verses are a bit too long to my taste... The interludes and the bridge were great. Refrains were a cool addition. Not how I'd put together all the parts (not how I'd structure the song), but it's good overall. Kind of a shame EPICA truly forgot to experiment with song structures in this album (TQE in general). I can really feel the similarity between the songs that way, and that's not a good thing in my eyes (not similarity in the sense of a recurring theme in the album, but lack of creativity or just lack of attempts to do something out of the box or different).
Epica rocks even in bonus tracks
*especially
This should have been on the full album, it's such a good song.
Epica excellent band with amazing vocals by simone simons what a legend in the music 🎶 🎵 business guitars 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎹 🎹 🎹 🎹 🎹 🎹 🎹 🎹 🎹
Epica understands what humanity does not, I praise them for that! This song sends a powerful message

Hands down my absolute favorite group.

Or Morrowind, I think
This definitely sounds like an evangelion OST
