      I love the manual artisan feel, it brings a bit of “well, what did I just make today” the r91 can do that as well very easily or you can can the precise repetition for the rest of the household so best of both worlds you could say

    Question: How do you compare that to the Rocket Epica? Short of the saved feature, you would be manually creating that. Are you impressed with the Epica or would you stay with the R91

    As always, a great presentation. One odd question…does this replace the art of crafting a good espresso and relegate it to, in some manner, a heartless, soulless science? If one could automate the painting of, say, the Mona Lisa, does it somehow relegate the output to being something less than art? To me, this appears to take the “joy” out of the crafting. No? And is it “worth” $7000 more than my ECM? Incidentally, I have the same question about the Decent.

    • @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters
      @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters  Рік тому

      Good perspective, it done not take the art out but give give you a better set of paint and brushes to make the art, you still have to decide the recipe you use. The decent is similar but you tend ti get very technical on the decent, the pressure on the decent is next level if your wanting flow control it is crazy tech

    • @Adam-cn5ib
      @Adam-cn5ib Рік тому

      You could also say painting with your hands is more artistic than paint brushes because a paint brush is a tool to help the artist make better drawings.

    • @rxonmymind8362
      @rxonmymind8362 Рік тому

      You answered your question. "Art" depends on the eye of the beholder.
      If say a computer could replicate Mona Lisa perfectly to the atom vs the original who's to say?
      With money "worth" is what value you put on it.

    • @Adam-cn5ib
      @Adam-cn5ib Рік тому

      @@rxonmymind8362 In general what dictates value is the story behind the painting. Davinci spent years painting it and all the detail he put in could never be done by a computer

    I don’t understand why the machine’s pump isn’t sufficient to allow for pressure profiling without it being plumbed in.

    • @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters

    Was intrigued by the leadin with a forked pallet. Looked at Rocket a couple of years ago before going to a Decent XL (which is great btw) but a part of me still hankers after a G’s Slayer and now a Rocket although how hard to tilt the gauges/display to eye level?

    • @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters
      @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters  Рік тому

      You can’t tilt the gauge as you would tilt the machine and then it won’t be level, the drain would spill every where 😂

      @@JusBThankful it sounded like pump cavitation; however they replaced this and still no luck. I think it spent more time in the shop than on the bench 😢. They tried quite a few times. Anyway, picked up a second hand slayer and that’s been bombproof.

    Do I totally need to directly feed the machine to a pressurised water supply? I am interested in playing around with pressure profiling but I don't know about direct water connections and the importance of it for such machines. I'd really appreciate any info on the matter as I'm in the market for the R9 or the Sanremo YOU very soon.

    • @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters
      @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters  Місяць тому

      You don't need to feed the R Nine One into a pressurized water supply as the rotary pump in the machine is more than capable of providing enough pressure to pressure profile your extractions.
      If you do choose to plumb the machine into a direct water supply then you will have to install a pressure limiting valve. You'll just need to refer to manufacturer specs to make sure you install the valve that will provide the correct pressure. Hope that helps and makes sense :)

  • @rogerpye1865
    @rogerpye1865 Рік тому +1

    Thanks for the review. The review & the machine were very impressive. Does This machine have to be 'plumbed in' in order to be able to do all that pressure profiling ?

    • @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters
      @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters  Рік тому +1

      No, it just started from a 0 bar pressure, if you plumb it in to mains water it will start at 3 bar and you can then have a reduction valve if you want to start back from 0, all our tests were using the tank

    Can you connect a Bluetooth scale like your Acaia Lunar to it and do gravimetric brewing or did they exclude this feature just like in the VA E1 Prima?
    Would be a shame, I can’t understand why nobody offers this basic functionality in these uber expensive machines when you can get it in a Decent DE1 for half the price…

    • @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters
