Best video on UA-cam on how to do a oil pan for a f150 brother. I have a 2wd that made this job 10x easier. Since I didn’t have to drop the axle thank god, but it’s literally the same steps to change the oil pan. Never the less it took me 3 days and hours of watching ur video but it was done 😅😂 it’s now Monday 11pm & I started Saturday around 2pm…Now time to go shower and rest😂
AMAZING VIDEO! I SWEAR THIS WAS A HUGE HELP! DEALERSHIP WANTED TO CHARGE ME $800 TO CHANGE THE OIL PAN AND GASKET! I did it myself for $145 and this video!
Maaaaaan……first off…best step by step video out there! The shared lessons learned like the trans cooler lines and doing the front first made it much easier. Made the job much easier and I had zero hiccups other than the front diff being a little difficult to line back up. Took me roughly 5.5-6 hrs with a couple breaks. I’m also slow after a couple hours of laying on the ground and up and down…not as young as I used to be haha. Thanks again for the video. I’ll send anyone else I know who needs this done to your video. Awesome job!
Saved my life! I did struggle tho in my case I had to lift the trans about an inch or so to get clearance and give it a love tap out and another going back in. Thank you!
My differential won’t drop. Do you have any tips? I took out all 3 bolts. Used clamps. The front driver side will not go down. I did engage 4x4 to get it up on blocks
Appreciate this tutorial! Just followed your heater hose video for my truck and this one is next on the docket. How long did this take you and how much oil were you loosing when you decided to pull the trigger on the repair?
The problem that I have is all these videos on UA-cam they don’t show you how to remove the oil pan from the engine. That is the problem that I’m struggling right now. I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong, but I got everything out ready to come out for the oil pan I can’t get it out.
@ I jacked the truck up and then lowered it rlly fast😭😭 the only thing that made it come lose. Jack it up by the diff and then release it quick. Make sure the truck is leveled too
@jackarceneaux yeah I've got a lift so I'm prying it down with a 40" bar up at waist height. I think it's due to the 3"lift on this truck. The axle shafts are at an extreme angle and binding. I read about others having issues with lifted trucks, but no one had a remedy
@@korycurtis3730 oh I meant like leveled on the ground. The lift shouldn't matter I don't think. The crow bar will inch it down too.. did you end up getting it?
@jackarceneaux yeah i finally got it, the truck had a 3" spacer lift and it put the axle halfshafts at such a extreme angle that they were binding . The diff was sloppy loose but wouldn't drop more then a inch in either side. So i ended up marking the r/h lower control arm bolt locations and then removed them, slid the whole suspension outwards and then the axle dropped another 2" inches. The pan still wouldn't clear the pick up tube at the front so i took the rh engine mount loose and jacked the engine up about a 1.5" then it slid right out. More work then i was expecting to do, but that diff wouldn't budge. Hopefully, someone who's stuck in this situation in the future will read this and try this out.

Glad it helped!
We owe you a beer man, thank you so much!
Very thorough video. Thanks, I'll be tackling the same thing for a buddy's truck shortly. Your video will make the job simple.
Great video - just the right amount of detail and great editing. Must’ve been tough setting up all those camera angles.

Appreciate it brother!
I agree the getting up and down and under the truck is a problem when you get older...
Awesome video man. Very informative and to the point
That’s a hell of a job without a lift. Great work
Excellent video, thanks 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome video followed step by step and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it might be. thanks for taking the time to make such a great video!!
Fantastic video! Gave me the confidence to take this job on myself. Thank you!

Thanks man I appreciate the positive feedback.
My oil pan seal has been leaking for at least 6 years yours is so clean compared to mine 😂
You are absolutely awesome thank you.

One question I need to replace the fluid in the front differential too with it unbolted and lowered can you get the pumpkin cover off?

What electric impact tool did you use?
It’s the Hercules 1/2” ultra torque from Harbor Freight
Thanks for the info and also for the great video and tips!
So if it would have been your main rear seal...that flex plate wound have been filthy on the inside...am I right?
Yes correct there would be lots of oil residue where the transmission meets the engine on the bell housing.
@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE thank you

I show pretty much every step on how to remove it from the engine in my video. Where exactly are you struggling at?
My 4wd diff won't drop down and I've removed all 3 bolts.. what yall think?
What did you end up doing? This one I'm working on only comes down about an inch

if it’s rwd, isn’t it make the job much easier?
Yes because you will not have to deal with the front differential.
