Hi! welcome back to Japan! We really welcomed to you guys. Hope you enjoyed staying here. And thank you for sharing our culture through your great video!
Tokyo our favourite place for food too… we were there last month to try out new places and re-visit some old favourites… good to see outer Tsukiji market starting to get busy again
Daily expenses probably about ¥4000-5000/day for 3 good meals and railway trips within Tokyo …u can get a good bowl of ramen or butadon for below ¥1000 and there is always their conbinis… pint of local draft beer around ¥200 at some Izakayas Airplane & accommodation depends on what you looking for.
Some of the places we have revisted Toriki In Shinagawa for Yokitori Soba at Sarashina Horii in Roppongi Jamon Roppongi for Izakaya Ginza Steak & Nikuya Yokocho for Wagyu Buffet Buta Daikagu for Butadon Rokurinsha in Tokyo Station for Tsukemen Sushi Zanmai for affordable sushi Daiwa & Kyubei for slightly more pricey sushi 7-11 grilled fish that you reheat in the microwave… we tried the salmon and Sable fish
You are my favorite travel / food content creator by far! I was searching specifically for a Japan video from you since my wife and I are going to Japan for our anniversary at the end of August. To my surprise, you came out with a video yesterday! Perfect timing! Hopefully we will cross paths one day, as I would love to me you! Thanks for the amazing vids and safe travels!
A wonderful start to this Japanese video series with these street foods. It was interesting to see the fishcake on a stick, the candied strawberries, and the red bean mini-waffles. Those were standouts for sure.
A very tasteful episode and a beautiful inside off Tokyo !! Maybe on some places a little bit over crowded, but absolute worth to visit ! Like a said a very tasteful episode and thanks for sharing with us !!
Welcome back to Japan 🤩 This video brings back a lot of memories to me... I lived in Tokyo for over 10 years. 😃 By the way, the building with the huge golden artwork is so famous but doesn't have a good reputation for young people. Cuz, you know... the shape and color of the art remind them of ... ah...you know...umm...😅 When I was in college, we used to call it 〇〇〇〇 building...😅 (four letters. The last one is "t") Anyway, I'm so glad you two came back to Japan and a lot of tourists have come returned to Japan again after such a long and hard covid19 situation😄 As you said, one of the Tokyo's amazing aspects is the "mixture" of old and new like the scenery of the traditional temples and skyscrapers. And as you went, you guys are so lucky there was a temporary market. That kind of market is so common around Japan when there is a festival or something. But we haven't seen those markets for a couple of years because of the pandemic. I'm happy too to see these markets have reopened in Tokyo too🤩 Thank you for the amazing video and for making me soooo hungry at 10:30PM😂Can't wait for the next one! Stay safe guys😄 From Japan🤩

Sushi with mustard is called "island sushi" and is eaten on islands such as Hachijojima. This is because wasabi is not available on the islands. Instead of wasabi, they use mustard, which is delicious. Sushi from other countries is made very hard, but professional Japanese sushi chefs make sushi gently so that it loosens when you put it in your mouth. If you want to become a sushi chef, you should learn this technique. If the sushi is hard and the balance between the ingredients and the rice is not right, you are not trained enough as a professional.
I'm so glad that I just got back from Japan. Otherwise, I will be super jealous of all of the yummie food that you get to taste. However, you gave me a few good ideas for my next trip whenever that may be. Thanks for bringing us great content as always.
Yay you’re back in Japan! I just love Japanese food tour videos and this was so fascinating to watch. I can’t believe the price of tuna and what it sells for there 🥺 the food looks amazing!
~ ⛩ Another wonderful video, showing-off the beauty & treats of Japan. I will make it there someday. Being full-blood Japanese, it would be a dream trip for me. 🙏🏽
If the skin of the little orange fruit was sweet and the flesh a little sour then they're probably cumquats (also spelled Kumquat). They can be boiled in sugar syrup to make candied cumquats, which are very delicious.
I love the omakase. But I mentioned you always pronounce the „u“ in the words. As I have learned in my japanese lessons so far the „u“ isn‘t pronounced a- it is not Asakusa but Asak‘sa- same with Tsukiji - pronounce Ts‘kiji market. The report is amazing. Thank. Bring back memories to all of my 8 Japan trips until 2019…
Thanks for another great video Luke ! I also love Tokyo, and I will be back in Japan for the first time after the pandemic in one week, I cant waito for it. Is it possible to have a Omakase meal without speaking Japanese ?
It is actually not that hard to do this in places like tsukiji or even most sushi places. I spent a whole two months in Tokyo as a research scientist and got by with very rudimentary greetings as my only Japanese. The only thing you really need to get is an internet connection on your phone. Google translate does the rest.
I ate watermelon last month in the middle of winter in Japan. In Okinawa and Kochi Prefecture, watermelons can be grown in winter. One medium sized one was 5,000 yen. It is much more expensive. It was quite tasty and refreshing for winter. The farmers' efforts are amazing. Melons for 10,000 yen, mangoes for 10,000 yen, and strawberries for 5,000 yen are fruits for gifts. Normally, you can eat them at a much lower price. However, these expensive fruits are very carefully cultivated and difficult to breed, so they are expensive. If you want to taste high-end fruits, you can go to Sembikiya 千疋屋 in Ginza or Takano Fruits 高野フルーツ in Shinjuku, where you can have the best quality fruits. As a parfait, it can be served with ice cream and whipped cream, making it a very tasty dessert.

Tokyo our favourite place for food too… we were there last month to try out new places and re-visit some old favourites… good to see outer Tsukiji market starting to get busy again
How much does it cost for a person to go from US to Japan for 1 week? With common sense and not excessive but to sample culture and enjoy?
Daily expenses probably about ¥4000-5000/day for 3 good meals and railway trips within Tokyo …u can get a good bowl of ramen or butadon for below ¥1000 and there is always their conbinis… pint of local draft beer around ¥200 at some Izakayas
