And that was the fist time i think you've ever mentioned American Pickers .i think it would be an awesome show if they would do an episode at your museum ..

I had a 1967 Harley Davidson SS Sprint 250 back 1974 but it got stolen at home when I was United States Navy at Great Lakes Navy & Marines Corps Base 1979! My Uncle work for Sheriff Department in Iowa but they never found it! 🤣
My late brother had one of these in his collection, I believe it was a 1969, orange/black tank in color. I cannot remember but were the motors a 2 stroke? Oil and gas mix?
Two strokes and four strokes. This is a 72 two stroke. But they started making them in 1965, if these sources are correct. carscoms.com/1972-harley-davidson-sprint-250-twin-cylinder-two-stroke-low-mileage-fully-resto-338289.html?fbclid=IwAR1kngguxMvMeGn9n36E1oDpzuRPacHRqPdw5ZksRmZZQoo_Z8BjdqvK4Dw
I’ll never understand how people can say they get 75mph out of these bikes. I have the exact same bike (but a 1968) with a fresh top end and I can’t get her over 55mph
Walter Villa won the championship on a two-stroke Aermacchi. Harley bought a 50% share of Aermacchi because they didn't have an entry-level bike for the millions of baby boomers who were coming of age.
Hey kaplan i have a complete(minus carbs and key) kawasaki kh250(the triple 2 stroke) id like to sell to you for 3k. Motor has compression and feels nice just cant find the carbs for it and have other bikes im working on at the moment. If your interested let me know
I love this the sprint. They even had some wild-ass racing models but they all ran good
I have a 66 250 pretty much complete. Been sitting since i was 17. Used to have a trading card and factory manual for it, think it's in storage..

I'm closing a deal on a1967 Harley Davidson dirt bike . 250 need s love
They have such a throaty sound
When you open the throttle it must have a really good intake design
You're the Man KK, those roads look slippery AF...ride safe
History should pick you up “Motorcycle picker”!
just bought a running one last year plus a second one that is a basket case but all the parts are not there

Oh, on second look, the Gas Tank is a 1968, not a 1967.
Nice

"The first US model was the 1961 Model C Sprint 250cc 4-stroke OHV. Two-stroke models began in 1965. "
The one in this video looks like a two stroke. But it may just be difficult to notice the difference easily. Sounds like a four stroke though.
@@metalurgon your source is incorrect, the orange Sprint in the ad is a 350 4-stroke single.

Topped out at around 55, had to run a smaller rear sprocket.
Something must be wrong with your motorcycle because I had one that had piston slap that would do 70
If you tried to open it up with a fresh top-end that tells me it wasn't broke in and that does make a difference.
@@chinstrap5233I don't believe that thease bikes are geared high a smaller rear sprocket would make it geared even higher
LOL, never seen one....period. I thought that I was watching the History Channel for a minute.
Stop smoking drugs you fool!

Got one ....lol
Bi
dont sound like a harley sounds more like a british bike
Obviously... its not a v twin
It sounds exactly like an Aeramachi Harley Davidsons. It's a small cc single cylinder bike so of course it doesn't sound like the typical Harley.
That machine is not original...
Would like to know what you saw to indicate that. I am building a 62 and have no reference other than what I can find internet wise
