Great set up from a West Australian home brewer visiting his daughter in Thailand
Well, thank you both, for a good brew session and your fine tutelage
Thanks! 👍🍻
I started a brew day once without checking that everything was working. I had just doughed in and went to turn on recirculation only to find my pump wouldn't even operate. After that wasted batch of grains I now check everything prior to mashing in. I look forward to one day having a nice herms setup.
Haha thanks! 👍🍻
On my pump dry chatter ground them a bit. Chattered until I replaced it. Thank you Brewers Hardware.
Awesome video, I am a Grainfather user, but once this system is not working I am looking at upgrading. My son built his own system and he said he could build me one as well, you info is great to see what type of equipment to purchase. Keep up the great work Brian
Brian, I came back and watched the rest of your brewday. I noticed you talking about the ditch on the side from the autosparge, I assumed it was the autosparge. I did away with the autosparge, and put another aftermarket false bottom over the grain bed to diffuse the flow. I then just got one of those plastic spreaders from Bobby at brew hardware to spread it before the false bottom. Seems to work well to spread the vorlauf. Cheers Buddy. Good work.
Thanks for the info! I'll look into it. 👍🍻
Hi guys, just watched the last 5 mins I missed this morning(Tasmania time), thanks for interesting and informative content as always, Steve
Thanks man!! Maybe see you on the next one!
Today just brew my Christmas ale and i just us 04 yeast and some spices
Check the wear on your magnets maybe. I had one that did that same thing.
Brew days great when they smooth, not so much fun when they dont.
What kind or ferment or do you have?
Sorry I missed it yesterday Brian. Cannot wait for the next one!! Maybe a single vessel brew next time?
Yeah it's time to switch it up.. maybe 2 systems at once!! 🤪😁
Mmm...beer... Can you put the main camera and the screens in the same spot? (Personal peeve.)
Thanks for all the great content Brian, it's been very helpful over the years. I have a question about how you CIP your 3 vessel system. Are you able to do a full CIP without disconnecting and lifting the kettles or do you end up having to bring them over to the sink for a full clean? I'm in the process of building out a system and I'm debating whether the new Spike bottom drain kettles are worth the extra cost for not having to move them. Any information you have would be really appreciated. Thanks!
I do have to take the kettles to the sink. It's not a big deal for me.
@@ShortCircuitedBrewers Thanks, I appreciate the quick response.
👍🍻
I CIP my 30 gallon kettles. The secret weapon for me is a small shop vac to get the last of the grains and the last of the liquid in the kettles.
I wonder how many gals. of cooling water it took? How you ever metered it?
I have not. I'm on a well so it doesn't matter as much. I'd say 20 gallons?
Close call on your element, glad you caught it.
Right!
How do u control the temperature after u pitch the yeast?
With my glycol chiller in the fermenter.
I love your Herms coil...
Blichmann makes a mighty fine coil!👍🍻
Keep up the good work Brian love the show
