    There needs to be straps around the front tire and boom and also around the rear tire and lift arms. Would have been fun to follow that tow with a dash cam

    Open your l arms slightly and create a cradle for the rear tire. Two straps on the handle bars one across the seat and chain the cross bar.

    you can pinch the rear tire with the L bar arms or you can strap the rear tire to them or both thats what i used to do

    1 driver 2 wheel lift straps 2 safety chains is all you need to load any bike on a autoloader. Damage free. How many tow truck drivers does it take to tow a bike? 3. Hahaha.

    Great idea, never seen that before, but you need 1 more strap around the back tire and bars so it doesn't move. That rear tire gets bumped that will cause damage to the rest of the bike

      That's what I just replied in a comment above your, he already had 4 straps & 2 chains, why not add 1 more strap on the rear end.

      1 on each side, for stability. And 1 on each wheel to prevent sliding up back or sideways. he chains on each sides was good too. It's not going anywhere. I used to have cable and cycle straps. Those were tough to use.

    How not to load a motorcycle on a tow truck should be the name of your video. you know there are attachments made for that unit to hold the front tire in place and also go under the rear tire. i am wondering how far you made it before it feel off the unit?

    • @BillBlast7372
      @BillBlast7372 7 років тому +1

      If he was gonna tow it this way without the proper attachment, he could have thrown a strap around the underside of the forks & through the rear tire so it wouldn't slide off. I don't know why he didn't seeing he already had 4 straps & 2 chains on it to begin with, hell what's 1 more strap. Like you said, it is better & safer to use the attachments, unless you had no choice.

      Correct guess how I know. Tried with my bike and my own truck this does not work. Maybe if you strap like G you can pull it off but average truck wont have seven small soft straps ready to roll.

    The amount of damage this will cause would be a total loss as far as insurance is concerned. And that's aside from the fact of it falling off.scratched frame possible bent tripple tree and not strapping wheels to lift? Ide let them tow mine, then ide get a new bike.....

    they make special wheel chalks that should be placed on the cross bar of the wheel lift to do this right. If this was my bike I would be pissed!!!

  • @enriquegonzalez760
    @enriquegonzalez760 3 роки тому

    I give you credit for making the video, but you really need to practice. You look nervous and not confident. Your straps are not the correct ones. There is a hole on the hooks were the straps should hold onto. This is why the straps have a metal part at the ends. That rear whell needs to be tied down also. Think it out better , and practice. But the correct straps. Good luck

    Their is nothing wrong with this way its no damn different than standing one up in the back of a pickup and strapping it down it just looks dangerous to most people that really don't tow shit on a daily basis the wheels are in the same amount of contact on the wheel lift as setting on the back of a regular pick up as long as its pulled tight its not going to move no where.

    • @BillBlast7372
      @BillBlast7372 7 років тому +3

      Until the rear tire slides off, they make a attachment that has side supports, so the tire can't slide off it's contact point. That's the biggest issue.

    • @viperfukgoogplus386
      @viperfukgoogplus386 7 років тому +1

      Bill, you're an idiot. Ford nut is correct. While it would have been smart to an another strap back there, this is no different than towing a bike on a flatbed. The flatbed doesn't have side rails that stop the tires from slipping out. That's done with the straps on each side of the bike that compresses the suspension to put load on that tire so that it does not slip.

    • @BillBlast7372
      @BillBlast7372 7 років тому +1

      Viper fukgoogPlus Everyone has there own opinions & if you think I'm an idiot, sorry to hear that for you then. I have transported motorcycles of all shapes & sizes, yet I have never damaged any bike in any way, ever!! I have had to load bikes quick, in a timely manner & by myself every time. Nothing was ever screwed up, scratched or dropped through my loading or transporting techniques....so how would that make me an idiot??
      I'm not bragging, I'm just stating my experience with this subject.

    • @TRUMP2024WOOT

      You would be able to get away with this just fine just never seen it done this way good idea in a pinch and ther is no difference about doing it this way or having it in the middle of a bed but he shuda put one more strap on the back tire
