    I love hiking in the rain! Just my raincoat, no umbrella. It would be hard to use my hiking poles and an umbrella. It smell so wonderful to walk in the woods on a rainy day.

    I never knew Chester County was so rural with horse farms and deer a plenty. I always think of Philly when someone mentions it. Your video really made my eyes pop open, lol

    Cliff , Chester Co has many horse farms , I can remember back in the 50s seeing Fox Hunters going across country. Some of the Olympic riders come from Chester Co, Sadly I see almost everyday on my bus route one deer that was hit and killed by a vehicle. A lot more deer are road killed than by hunters. The average deer lives @ 2 1/2 years

    Good video Cliff...thanks for taking us along. Just a reminder...make sure when you are walking on roads that you walk on the side facing oncoming traffic and not on the side where vehicles are coming up behind you. Cheers.

      Yes! Nice reminder. More and more dopes are walking on the wrong side of the road these days AND looking down at their phones. Very very unsafe and selfish.

    I love rainy walks if I have a wool hat on and waterproof hiking boots on my feet. Thanks for the hike!

    That's really cool you have video of two fawns nursing. I never saw that before. I've seen other young animals nursing, but not deer. I found this brief information online: Does nurse their fawns about 4 times a day as newborns and will continue nursing for about 4 months.
    At about 2 weeks of age, a fawn will start browsing tender vegetation and learn from its mother what plants to eat.
    Thanks for that hike. It was a neat trail. I'm glad you took us in the drizzle on the wet day. It makes us realize that yes, you really don't melt when it rains on you and that rainy days do not have to be spent indoors. 🌲👍❣️

    Chester County is definitely horse country. The Bolton Center down there is an equine medical facility that is part of University of Pennsylvania (don't quote me on that)?

    Thanks for taking me on your hike. For your safety, please consider walking on the left side of the road (facing traffic). All the best.

    Ha… my dog does not like hiking in the rain. As soon as it starts to rain, he stops dead in his tracks, looks up at me, then turns around and starts heading back to the car!

  • @OlWolf1011

    Yeah, they’re gonna nurse till mom tells ‘em to go with grandma and their cousins born this year. Then while grandma teaches them to function on their own, mom will be finding the best date to father fawns for next year. That alert look - radars forward and a stomp = that’s an alarm to the others that she’s spotted you, and they should put more distance between ya’all. Light-glint off your camera lens - bet it looks like a rifle-scope from her end.

    • @tomtransport
      @tomtransport Рік тому +1

      Can't speak for Cliff but for myself rain gear makes me feel clammy and uncomfortable, an umbrella usually works for me just fine.😀 I would have a pair of waterproof boots on for that walk in the grass.😀
