Thanks for sharing this toaster cover video. How much fabric material did you use for the toaster cover?(& how much bias tape do I need for this project?(how wide is the bias tape..I'll make my own strips).
I used a 1/2 a yard of material for the outside and 1/2 for the inside, plus 1/2 a yard for the batting. It may depend on the size of your toaster though if you have a larger vs smaller sized one. Bias tape is fabric strips that are cut on the bias of the material. Any type of fabric strips can work though to just cover the edges. For this, I had used a new package of bias tape, so 3 yards, and it was more than plenty. you could definitely measure out the edges of your material though to get an exact amount for how much bias tape you would need. Let me know if you have any other questions!
I am sewing a toaster cover right now and just finished a quilt, except for the binding. I'm scared to go forward on this and ruin my projects. I have never use bias tape before and don't know what size will be best. My toaster cover is pretty thick and wonder what size of tape to use. I have been watching quilt binding but think 2.5" strips are too thin but making my own tape may be doable. What size and kind of tape did you use? Folded?
For this toaster cover I used double fold bias tape. I also use that for my quilts. For the sizing I would recommend 1/2 inch double food bias tape or what the equivalent of 1 inch single fold bias tape would be. Let me know if that helps!
Sorry for the late reply, but bias tape is just strips of fabric cut on the bias of the fabric. If trimming strips are just strips of fabric that you press to get the folded pattern then that would work well too!😊
To fit my toaster I purchased 1.5 yards of material. If you wanted them different patterns I'd say 3/4 a yard for the outside and then 3/4 a yard for the lining material
Thanks this is beautiful appreciated greatly will use as a school project in the Bahamas
Such a fun idea!! I'm glad it helped!
Great Job love it
Thank you!! 😊

@Sewemmydesigns thanks so much for your help!
What is bias tape?(I'll probably make my "own" trimming strips).
