AT Thru-Hike 2024: Days 79-80 / 800 Miles and Tackling the First Presidents

- Is it okay to say we are tired? And a little battered? Down from Kinsman and back up Franconia Notch over Little Haystack, Mt. Lincoln, Mt. Lafayette and Mt. Garfield. We passed our 800 mile mark and tackled our first 5k plus peaks. It feels good to accomplish these things, but the terrain is no joke. The upcoming weather predictions are not good and cause us concern, but we are still climbing. Thanks for watching and we hope you have enjoyed our journey so far. As always, HAPPY HIKING! ✌🏼❣️🥾

Tough day, but amazing views on the Franconia Ridge. Sleep well.
Congratulations on your 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯mile mark!🏔🏕👍👍👍👍✌️Bacon Wrap
That is a tough section. Thank you for showing me Franconia Ridge as all we saw was clouds and rain. And wind. It’s beautiful ! Our mileage dropped by about half in the Whites and southern Maine. Take care with the miles ahead.
Yeah 800 miles 🎉
Snicket time ! 😋😎👍👍👋
That summit snickers that I just couldn’t say!! It just became “summer snicket” for every summit after. 😂
That was a challenging day! You have really developed your trail legs. I had forgotten how many big boulders are in that stretch of trail. So happy you had such good weather. The closed captioning feature wasn’t working today.
I’m surprised CC ever works with us! My legs are good. My knees are bad! (Jingle). We are currently taking a little break to try and give our bodies time to recover. Hopefully back on trail soon!
Amazing. I’m sitting on my patio nursing my bum knee that is going to be replaced in October and in awe of you both.
I, too, am now nursing my knees and feet (Jingle). We were both bruised and battered and are taking a little time to recover.
Also, good luck with your recovery. You’ll be up and kicking butt with that new knee!
@@themeanderingmcgees You are too kind. I am a hiker, but not your level. While watching you both I am always looking at your knees with great envy wishing my left one worked like yours!!
