You're right, Larry Bird was a stone cold assassin. I love when they talk about, he wasn't fast, he can't jump yet he goes out there and demolished them. 😂
I never missed a game ,and ever game was worth the money 💰, win or lose ,cause bird gave 200 percent and always did something that made you go "How the Hell did he make that shot, pass,or steal #LB33 ❤🐦
Love Larry Bird. It was so exciting sitting in front of the TV yelling at his amazing plays. Love watching videos and so grateful to see those plays again. Over the backboard just kills me still. I love it.
During a break in the game Bird walks over to Charles Barkley, they have a brief conversation. Bird walks away very straight faced and Barkley is bent over laughing so hard he is 6 seconds late to the play as his team passes the ball in.
Pacers was the game, late in his career...where he fractured his cheek bone..DR. said his night was done....he asks for a beer...and returns to the court...fractured cheek bone, concussion, probably double vision.... With repaired feet...and a back so bad he required hours of rehab... And won the game. He was like Dracula...rose from the grave...and killed it. 😄
*Magic & Larry,* resurrected the game of basketball......My dad loved basketball, but stopped watching, until the competition between Johnson & Bird was highlighted......What my Dad used to say, about Larry's game, is that it reminded him of someone, who was not only playing basketball, but also, volleyball, dodgeball, hockey, baseball, football, soccer, & strategic chess, all at the same time, and was what made him so great 😊He certainly was one of the most unique and gifted players, I have ever watched!
The head injury happened during the pacers game. Larry was watching the game while getting treatment in the locker room. Dr. told him he was done for the night but chuck Person (pacer player) was being so arrogant during Larry’s absence. So Larry came back to the game when the doctors back was turned. Had to comeback and give Person a lesson!
@@AyySolid I'm not sure. You might be thinking about the video where he told Xavier he was going to shoot the last, game winning shot, in his face, and did.
maxwell was so jealous of bird. they played well together on the floor . but maxwell did not play as hard as he could have and larry knew it. maxwell cost the celtics the 85 championship and was traded for walton. thanks for listening solid.
Never reached his full potential. Injuries hurt his career even as good as he was. I watched his entire career as a Bird fan. 13 year career and missed 1 of those. 3 straight MVPs and 4 runner ups playing injured in 12 seasons
Didn't realize Stock had 4 runner ups. That dude doesn't get the respect he deserves these days. Retired as the all time assists, and steals leader and he could shoot.
He was so good…that the games got boring. So he spiced it up a little just to challenge himself. Sometimes he would tell the ball boy to find out what are the most points scored in the building. Just to spice it up. He could swish a shot and make it go where he wanted it to go. Top of the key SWISH… he’s at the baseline and the ball comes to him. He shoots 500 shots everyday in the Summer. Then he feels Magic is shot 600. So he’ll come out and add 200 more.
This is a comment on your Jason Williams reaction that I slept on doing. You were wondering why his opponents were bitin' hard on his pre-pass moves and seeing his passing, you didn't think he was a big threat to go for the score. I checked your uploads and I didn't see JWill's "45 best plays." If you react to this video you'll be pleasantly surprised and see why defenders had to cover JWill if he looked like he was making moves to score. I enjoy your reactions, mahalo for your hard work and for sharing. 🤙😎
He was in college. The opposition is taking free throws. Larry Bird winks at one of his guards. The free throw misses, Bird rebounds. Without turning back, he whips the ball over his head cross court to the guard who lays it in for the score.
Bird picking up that piece of dust off the floor and flicking it away while he had their attention was a great little touch. 😁 I love hearing the stories.
All the young folks are dropping him out of the top 10 and having seen most of his career and everything since, I just don't get it. There's only two players ever id take over the Legend.
Badly broken and mangled right forefinger before he ever played 1 pro game. ROY and 4th in MVP, then 8 straight years of finishing 1st or 2nd in MVP. The 3rd MVP and then twice finishing 2nd AFTER he broke a bone in his back.
Went to see Bird play against the Warriors on 1/2/1981 in Oakland. Bird played 37 minutes and scored zero points. Only time in his career. He did all the rest of the amazing things he usually did, but no points.
I love the story of when Bird went to the other players bench and said to the coach "Frank don't you have anyone on the bench that can guard me, because nobody out here can" And Frank looked at his bench than back at Bird and said no.
Larry was a cold blooded assassin. He was gonna beat you even if he had to play hurt or sick or whatever. He would dominate in any era. So would MJ or Magic etc etc…
Top NBA career combined stats per game (pts, reb, ast, stl, blk) career fg%,tp%,ft% 1. Jordan 44.7 -50-33-84 2. Lebron 44.4 -51-35-73 3. Bird 43.1 -50-38-89 4. Kareem 42.9 -56-06-72 5. Durant 40.8 -50-38-88 Bird had the second highest winning percentage super close right behind Magic (10 games off).
All Larry Bird could do was beat you. He played the 4th quarter against Seattle with a broken cheek bone. Magic and Bird created perhaps the greatest era in NBA history. He played hurt throughout his career, not like today's divas who sit out a month because their tootsie got twisted. Dedication to the money has displaced dedication to the game, and that's why Larry would wipe out today's players.
Nobody seems to recognize that Larry was a big 6'10" and when he stuck his arms up, more like 8' 6" , so making a dunk wasn't really difficult for him at all.
Larry legend hands down boy could ball and Celtics was religion in my house growing up and gave us white guys hope 😂and he'd tell you about how he's gonna drop 40 on ya 😘🙃❤
11:35 I think thats what they mean. So many young people watching today always go "omg he fell for that?" They dont understand. They dont understand that Larry would drop their favorit player in the exact same way.
Labron is scared to take the last second shot usally passes it or misses it, Bird thrived on it only saw him miss once - im a 68 year old Laker fan, saw Larry in prime he used to make me so mad because he came through nearly ever time !
One of the best interviews I’ve watched. It’s about 45 minutes. Dec 1992 Interview with three Boston greats: Bobby Orr, Ted Williams, & Larry Bird: ua-cam.com/video/TFfm8yHhS1E/v-deo.html
Bird could have had 75 easy. He quit at 3/4 with 1 steal from a quadruple dbl. Dudes different. Team play cut his stats down. Thank God too. Team over stats.
My favorite Larry story isn't even from playing, It's how he busted his back building his mom a driveway, Imagine how he would have been without dumb injuries
It makes me laugh when i hear ppl say OOOHHH DIRK INVENTED THE ONE LEG FACE AWAY or Hakeem's dream shake,1- Bird was doing that one leg in late 70's & as far as dream shake watch McHale in college about 4 yrs b 4 Hakeem
I still think Jordan is the goat, but I must admit I've never seen an all around better basketball player than Bird, especially with the clock in single digits.

Nice to see you doing LARRY again Solid! 🥰
I could watch these all day long. They are hilarious.

Old white guy sub...your eye is once again awesome...Your great reactions make me rearrange my top five...
Larry was a bad man. 😎
Love Larry Bird. It was so exciting sitting in front of the TV yelling at his amazing plays. Love watching videos and so grateful to see those plays again. Over the backboard just kills me still. I love it.
The game where Larry came back out and lit it up (after breaking his face) was against Chuck Person and the Indiana Pacers. That was a playoff game.

😄
He spent the night before in traction at the hospital in order to be able to play that game.
I have to think one of Larry's best assets was fearlessness in the face of pain. He learned that from his dad.
And, interestingly enough, his HS coach. Broke his ankle at the start of his sophomore year.
It's funny to he and Bird tell the story.
Larry Bird's best asset was between his ears
*Magic & Larry,* resurrected the game of basketball......My dad loved basketball, but stopped watching, until the competition between Johnson & Bird was highlighted......What my Dad used to say, about Larry's game, is that it reminded him of someone, who was not only playing basketball, but also, volleyball, dodgeball, hockey, baseball, football, soccer, & strategic chess, all at the same time, and was what made him so great 😊He certainly was one of the most unique and gifted players, I have ever watched!
The head injury where he busted his cheekbone was against the Pacers.
The Best Larry Best vs Michael Jordan Story Ever Told and Jamal Mashburn Tells a Bird Story.....both up your alley.
Glad to see you back young fella

Happy to see you back here!! Great stuff 😊
Just more and more proof why LARRY LEGEND BIRD is the one True GOAT
You know your good when the common theme of the video is “Larry gave us 50” 😂
It was The Pacers, when he hit his head and cheek bone, broken, on the floor, and came back 3rd quarter.
Pacers so what game was the sonic I’m thinking about
@@AyySolid I'm not sure. You might be thinking about the video where he told Xavier he was going to shoot the last, game winning shot, in his face, and did.
Larry Legend the true g.o.a.t.

Sorry for the absence
Great vid on the Legend bro!!

Savant is the perfect description of Larry's court vision/ball IQ. He was magic to watch.

Gotta make that money

Actually it was 5 second place finishes.
@B D 4. 81. 82. 83. 88. Only other player to have 4 runner ups was John Stockton
Didn't realize Stock had 4 runner ups. That dude doesn't get the respect he deserves these days. Retired as the all time assists, and steals leader and he could shoot.

Magic and Larry were more similar than people think, same year coming out both slow and couldn't jump but vicious at the end of a game
