fantastic vids. As a kid my dad/uncle taught me fly fish in Blue ridge mnts of NC and I loved it, then work go it the way, for far to many year...I live in England and looking for some of these small English steams to fish. I have been missing one of life's true pleasures! thanks for the channel!!
Are you still in Devon Robert and if so, will you be fishing some of the other parts of the Dartmoor system? The sky appears quite ominous. Did enjoy your post though
That's the first time I have ever heard a live cuckoo bird. That was alone worth it. What weight and length of rod are you using in this video? It could just be the camera angle but it looks like a pretty hefty rod.
One of the only fly fishing channels I can stand to watch.
Thank you.

Fantastic video, I love that river! I even managed to catch a trout! 😂😍
Great place to fish. I fished Colliford the other day and not only heard but actually saw a cuckoo sitting on a post and then in flight. Made my week.
I think that cuckoo was following me all week!
I’ve never fished Dartmoor but it looks a fantastic location minus the thunderstorm 🌩️ new sub from me Robert
Glad you liked it.
I enjoyed this and your East Dart video. Could you give a little commentary: rod size, fly, time of day please? 😊
Holding a long stick with a metal tip while standing in water.
What could possibly go wrong?
Greetings from Wisconsin, America.
That’s why the Darwin Awards exist 😂

Finally back home Peter. I managed to fish four of Dartmoor's rivers and brooks before the rains arrived!
Was this Tuesday Robert? I ran for cover from the Yeo about 2.30pm. Pretty dramatic stuff. Nice to hear a cuckoo 👍
Were you fishing a single spider again Robert ???
Beautiful video , very atmospheric in those surroundings 👍

The rod was a hollow build 8ft Garrison 206. So, surprisingly light for a split cane rod.
