So the day that happened, we happened to be near the ballpark in East Village and we're caught in a crazy downpour and hailstorm. We actually had to pull into the driveway of a building for shelter. It was not very windy from what I remember, but there was definitely extreme weather on the ground, very unusual. It was only later that day that I heard about the tornado right over our heads. I believe there is some video shot in Coronado that same day that appears to show it on the ground
On further review by my self it appears this was an actual supercell and was not a fair weather water spout. Such a rareity for San Diego or southern California for that matter.

If that would have touched down it would've been a very big one and caused lots of damage.
Thank goodness it didn’t form, this is one of my worst fears.
I think you mean "Thank goodness it didn't touch down"
@@uselessaccount6737 it's the same thing
@@thenoobking3817 No, the funnel cloud did form. It just did not touch the ground.
Tornadoes in California would be a nightmare next to earthquakes and tsunamis.
Great footage
Next time, you should try the “landscape” recording. Just set your phone sideways.
