Turns out that The Beatles were big fans of The Monkees, and invited them to hang out during the recording of Sgt. Pepper's (you can see Mike and Mickey in the video for "A Day in the Life," actually). Mickey recalled the meeting in his song "Randy Scouse Git," when he referred to The Beatles as the "Four Kings of EMI."

That's awesome! I love knowing these two amazing (and yet totally different groups) hung out together.
And Randy Scouse Git is one of my favorite Monkees' songs.
