CORRECTION: Turns out there are two types of NFC card for this scooter, a "master" card which is used for programming other cards and a regular card for general use. I was using the wrong one in the video, which is why it took a little while to unlock and says "Lu" on the display. When using the correct card it actually unlocks lightning fast, which is great news!
Compared to other scooters ive seen reviewed at around this price range, this may be the most well-rounded scooter. My swagtron 1 can only go as fast as the eco speed 3 setting, but thats an entry level scooter. The area i live in has steeeep hills, and bike trails are sparse/suicidal until you go in downtown. This scooter may be the perfect upgrade for me, good review. Ill keep in mind on the loose bolts and the tire change, the one im using are 5" solid tires, so i needed bigger and more cushiony tires
🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: The Splach Twin Plus electric scooter is priced around 900 pounds, offering dual motors, dual suspension, and a 15.6 amp hour 48 volt battery pack. It claims to accelerate to 28 miles per hour in less than 4 seconds, positioning itself between commuter scooters and high-performance ones. The scooter features pneumatic tires for a more comfortable ride, although they can be punctured. It includes an NFC keycard locking system for security, along with a compartment for an air tag for tracking. The scooter's chassis design is not exclusive to Splach, but it's competitively priced compared to similar models. It has a wide deck with a rubbery grip pattern for stability and easy cleaning. The scooter's suspension system is simple but effective, and it features drum brakes that perform better than expected. Electronic regenerative braking can be adjusted through settings but might be too intense for some riders. The scooter has front and rear lights for visibility, though additional lights may be needed for night riding. Its folding mechanism is robust and quick, making it convenient for transportation and storage. Range tests suggest it can cover around 20 miles with a heavy rider in dual motor mode, suitable for urban commutes. The scooter excels in hill climbing, making it suitable for hilly terrain. While not designed for off-roading, it handles gravel paths and grass reasonably well due to its dual motors and suspension. Pros include quick acceleration, smooth ride, portability, adequate range, and affordability. Cons include the charge port location, slow charging time, difficulty in changing tires, and occasional loose bolts. Overall, it's recommended for those seeking speed, comfort, and occasional off-road capability, with consideration for the twin model if off-roading isn't a priority. Made with HARPA AI
It might be tricky as the throttle is attached to the display, so the replacement would have to be similar enough to change speed modes etc. I'm sure it's possible, with enough effort
I do think there is a workaround behind it due to it working to the same sensors as a thumb throttle. You'd just have to know how to solder and be confident with your electronic tinkering.
Stay away from this product, Its a real nightmare. not reliable at all. it will brake every time you take it out for a ride, either get a flat tire (their solid tires tend to crack within a week very light use) brake issues or controller errors. It's a waste of money and time. please guys stay away from this piece of junk. it made my life miserable. they dont respond your claims, very unprofessional. do yourself a favor and deal with american brands only. also order a new controller had to wait close to a month just to received a non-function controler. this company is a joke, big joke.

I’m really interested in this scooter; however, I’d much prefer a thumb throttle. It looks like I’d be able to swap that out fairly easy?

@@NEONAIRSHIPI’m looking at placing a pre-order with Splach, but your discount code didn’t work?

It would not swap easily
How easy was it to replace the tire?
Very difficult tbh, just did it again recently
@@NEONAIRSHIP lol, maybe the solid tires are worth the less comfrotable ride then...thanks for the heads up
Air tires for your knees
Add £250 for shipping to the UK. 🤯😳🥵🥶😱
Tires are small
its a hiley rebrand

Maybe the pneumatic tires are better?
Long term my only issue has been popped inner tubes, but I've had more than usual with this scooter
