I love that tutorial because it shows us how to make a bun without using elastic bands that can damage your hairs, aren't eco friendly and we tend to loose a shit ton of those on a monthly basis. 8/10. The issue is that it is unfortunately not super friendly for people with short and thick hairs. Featuring a link to an other tutorial for people with thicker hair would be interesting and be super great for anyone wanting to try out this hairstyle. Still, thanks, it's actually alot more comfortable than the ponytail.
Today, my boyfriend walked into our bed room excitedly hinting at his hair, he had his hair in a bun using a wooden coffee mixing stick, he did it so well I was so impressed, he was so proud. He later sent me this video, thank you!
Don't worry, there's a way that should make it work. Either make 2 mini buns on each side of your head or attach only your top hairs and leave the bottom ones at your ears level untied. Hope this helps.
I just get it in a pony tail, spin the chopstick around until hair it tight, then pull it out almost all the way, pull it away from my hair like a lever, push it in half way, then push the chopstick down like a lever so the tip is pointing away and push it out (so you sorta push it in and out in a V shape). That does the trick for me. I've given this method a go and it really isn't working out. Tried it like 20 times and it doesn't work, even though I have fine, pin straight/grade 1 hair😖
Yeah I have been doing the twisty way around an elastic for years but it annoys me how loose it becomes after a couple hours at work. I love the actual hair sticks but they are always too short😅
I was at the process of doing it and I'm like,.. nah man this is never gonna happen, and then magically my hair doesn't move at all and there's a pretty but messy bun
3 years later and your tutorial has helped another long haired guy!
Ditto that

I'd be happy to add links to alternate methods! Do have any tutorials you like?
Excellent tutorial. Had to slightly alter the process as I am black with locs but this still helped ALOT! Thank you .🙏🏾

Finally make my first hair bun with a stick I bought 5 years ago
I started growing my hair at about the time you made this tutorial. It's to my mid back now and I needed this more than you can imagine.
approved for Asian hair with a pen! thanks 🙌🏼
Um, this is GENIUS. ❤
My chopstick broke lol
A man with his hair tied up with a chopstick in a bun is SOOOOOO hot!
I break the chopstick in half so it doesn’t stick out as much.
You can use a penchil or a small painting bruh or a very small knitting needle tho-
thank you! very useful info! it's pretty solid too!
Perfect! Thank you
Dang my hair is still not long enough. My hair is so thick and when I put it up it does a pony to my shoulder blades.
I'm having the same trouble with my thick hair!
There should be more hair options for people with thick hair.

try using something longer, like a paint brush
i have thick hair too and it works fine. wrap it really tight

If you have a link to a video of what you’re describing, I’ll add it in the video description! :)
same, I have extra thick 3C hair and it just falls out everytime! It did work perfectly on my sister with 1B hair though.

Yess...I make it 🎉🎉
