Hair pins were some of the most ancient ways of tying up one's hair. A simple stick. And it often known later to show one's status in society, depending on the material of the hair pin. Gold, silver, gemstones, carved ivory, wood, metal, etc used to be used. India also has had used these hairpins since ancient times and are still used.
When I forget about taking my hairband from home, I usually just break a stick from the tree and tie my hair with it. People look at me mortified, but hey, my comfort and cooling my body is more important heh
Don't be deceived, their hair has crazy grip and strength while being incredibly smooth. My husband is Japanese and I am always envying his amazing hair 😆
I love hairpins I live Japan so yea but me and my sister we used to get alot of hairpins from our family and our cousin she used to do our hair with them we love hairpins so much 💚🇯🇵
this is basically using the head to anchor the pin. if the woman jumps around or something and the position of the pin is moved, the anchor will be less effective and it'll loosen
Hi guys! I find the hairpin styles so beautiful and elegant! I'm new to this so I was just wondering...would it be okay for me to try this out and use Japanese hairpins on a daily basis even if I'm not Japanese? I would like to try it out because I think they're really pretty, cuz I'm afraid of being culturally disrespectful so I thought I'd ask here lol. Please let me know what you think guys! Thank you!
Hello. I am Japanese. I'm talking using translation. I am very happy that you wanted to use traditional Japanese hairpins like this video 😊 In Japan, this hairpin is called "Kanzashi". Let's use "Kanzashi" together!
You're so sweet for asking but as a japanese person myself I will say thay you should feel free to make use of these sorts of things! There is nothing disrespectful about it
Appreciate a tutorial that I don't even have to turn the sound on to understand, but just keep thinking...this can also be used as a weapon like in that crappy M Night Shyamalan movie "The Happening" 🤔😬😆
So I just Watched It 2 Times and Tried It With my Above Bottom Lenght and I did It 2 Times The First Ones Collapse and The Last One Worked I only Used my Chopstick Sorry..But Yeah I AM SO PROUD.🤣🤟 Now I want Some Of Those Beautiful Hairpins❤
I always use an apsara pencil, and one is still in my bun rn as I'm typing lol. Jokes apart, it's really convenient, like u pull up a pencil and phewww all the annoying hairs bothering u are up!
Japanese people are so good, polite, clean and positive.
Thank you! God bless!
*not all of them
And racist
@@velerina2017 racist people are all over the world. Not just a perticular country.
Wow.dude i really loved your comment.so positive
I used to do this with my pencil at school.
LOL same😂😂😂
Same
Me too
Well I used to try to do it never succeeded
Lol. Me too.

Wait wa- Indians also use em never knew that even tho I’m Indian

@@meep2418 yes, we Bengalis use them. Sold everywhere in Kolkata.
@@meep2418 it's a North India thing I guess, but I'm pretty sure it's prevalent in South too. Idk how you never came across one.
I saw my mom tying her hair so quick when she went to cook breakfast and she's using a wooden chopstick. It's so mesmerising. So beautiful too
日本人ですが本当にすごいですよね…説明されても一人でできる自信がありません!
She has such beautiful hair and those hairstyles with pins look amazing on her! I'l make sure when i vist Japan i go there 😍😁
It's amazing to see how these work. Asian hair is so silky soft, I would have thought these things would just slip right out.
I was surprised too, her hair looks so silky yet it stayed put
I wonder if it would stay if her hair was thicker and heavier though
It’s because it’s so tight
Don't be deceived, their hair has crazy grip and strength while being incredibly smooth. My husband is Japanese and I am always envying his amazing hair 😆
@@queenkoi I can see that. I just find it amazing how these things are so easy to use.
Beautiful! I just purchased a hair stick and was curious to see what kind of styles I could do with it, so thank you very much!
glad if the video is helpful for you 😁
We find ourselves once again in the recommended section. Welcome!
I love hairpins I live Japan so yea but me and my sister we used to get alot of hairpins from our family and our cousin she used to do our hair with them we love hairpins so much 💚🇯🇵
Oooh, I never knew these could just keep the hair up by itself.
The trick is to kind of sew it to the back of your head lol
Ugh i love so much japanese hairpin. I wish i could have one😞
I'VE ALWAYS PREFERRED MY HAIR DOWN BUT NOW I'M OBSESSED WITH HAIR STICKS. IT JUST MAKES ME FEEL SO FEMININE AND ELEGANT.
The sales person was so persuasive I ended up buying what I’ll never use. I’ve never encountered such ‘aggressive’ sales people in Japan.
I’ve seen asian ladies around my town with these in their hair and I always find them so pretty 🤩🤩
We need that kind of hair first...so beautiful!
this is basically using the head to anchor the pin. if the woman jumps around or something and the position of the pin is moved, the anchor will be less effective and it'll loosen
“I want it all up🙄🙄” at least she could have asked nicer. At least the lady doing her hair was classy.
English isn't her first language tho 😐
us in the ph with our ballpens in our provincial elem school when we don't have a scrunchie
I had purchased some hair pins similar to these but never knew how to use them. Thanks 4 the lesson, I will give it a try:)
I don't have this hair pin but I try this with my pen . It's not that much bad. It's pretty good.
I love this method. It's helpful when I do my work 😊
Thank u So much so easy, comfortable and stylish I tried .👍
Omg i don't know how to use hairpin but when i saw this video in a second i understand how to use it I tried with chopsticks bom i got it 😍😍😍

hairpins are not a Japanese thing.
Also ...culturally disrepectful ... uh > you're being highly disrespectful right now. We're all from Earth.
You're so sweet for asking but as a japanese person myself I will say thay you should feel free to make use of these sorts of things! There is nothing disrespectful about it
@@cyclopshot Aww yay! I bought a few and I'm very excited to try them out!

Someone do this for my hair! I love these pins they are so feminine and gorgeous
Unfortunately I don't own a hair stick.
おー、日本人だけど髪の毛ずっと短いから使ったことがなかった。使ってみたいな!でもこの存在を知る前から鉛筆で何気なくできるのは日本人の血か?
That is a strong hair pin
did your hair have always been this way or after keratin treatment
Is that black horse playing in the background? What- xD
It was satisfying
I always use an apsara pencil, and one is still in my bun rn as I'm typing lol.
