Yeah, I did and I love it. Due to it's speed and scouting I have more potential for earning SL in it than Leo L/44. My SL grind is: TAM 2IP early flanking and scouting. Then G91 R/4. And then Leo L/44. And then the rest of the lineup. SL grind is fun.
Well the TAM2IP hasn't got any thermals and the TAM2c has a better round, thermals and IRCM if i'm not mistaken. The only advantage it has over the regular TAM is just the composite screens. Don't think it is at the wrong BR, maybe a 0.3 increase but i don't see it necessary or happening anytime soon.
Better round as well I believe. DM33. It's at least 9.0, but I could see it at 9.3. Only reason why it's at 8.7 is because of powercreep (Gaijin's business strategy).
@@confuseddane9810 Ah you are correct better round indeed. Maybe 9.0 then, class 3(P) also has DM33. And also because it's probably still worse than a radkampwagen due to it's high mobility. Although 9.3 should be fine aswell.
@@CheyTacHD There are plenty of vehicles at 9.3 without thermals. Ex. radkampfwagen, KPZ70, MBT70 and probably a few more. Leopard 2K is 9.7 without thermals.
tam2 ip is incorrectly modeled or implemented. cause first, its not a standalone design. its an armor package capable of being used in both old tams or tam2c. second, in both designs it adds weight, while retaining the same power package. also the turret gets heavier, so there should be a difference in turret rotation speed, no matter if its the old hydraulic or the 2c electric one.
Picked this up to compliment Premium Leopard, nice 1-2 punch, flank first with the Tam..if it gets taken out, bring in the Premium Leo to finish them off.
It still on same 8.7, it does not go up because of it lack of thermals, if it had themals it would still stay on 8.7, but if it doesnt have them its fair to put it 8.3 imo.
Looks like a good buy once it becomes eligible for 50% sales or if you're lucky enough to get one of those fabled 90% discount coupons I keep hearing about
You're complaining about the biggest weakness of this tank as no thermal and maybe bug nvd... and you're also complaining about its under his needed br? :D Yes it can go up to 9.0 or above just give it a thermal and its ok... but until that i think its an OK br for it. Anyway i am playing it as second or third chance at top br with leo a1a1 l/44 and i think its pretty usefull just you need to know what you are doing without thermal. But playable it can bounces even top tier tanks and can survive many hits "No armor is the best armor" :D Anyway you made a great review from this vehicle. Keep it up with the best regards.
i use this tank at 10.3 with the leopard 2 pzbtl, and it works really well, it's pretty much a leopard with no thermals, (although it lacks armor, at this br everything pens u no matter what) i get pretty decent matches with this tank.

@@wonghy1115 We're in the same boat then, as I'm also trying to figure out whether to get the 2A4 or the Tam. I've read a lot of comments that say that the 2A4 is better than the Tam. I have a friend who got the Tam, and according to him it's amazing, I myself am leaning more toward the 2A4, as it just fits my kind of game style better. I'll let you know what I think of the 2A4 once I have it, if you can wait that long lol.

@@Tankenstein if atleast it had full nvd pack. Gajin's balancing is all messed up: italian Centauro and chinese WM have tvd at 8,3br, rooicat at 8,7 also has tvd, swedish ikv90 has tvd at 7,0 br. Edit: i mixed up ikv90 that has one of erliest laser rangefinders, with premium one at 9,0, sorry.
It's absolutely great for grinding the tree. The only thing i miss in this tank is better optics. But it's good. It has a drone too wich is fun to use. Yesterday i laughed my *ss off as i spotted a lot of vehicles with it behind bushes and a chopper took them out one by one. 😂 It has no thermal vision wich make people think that it's hard to compete with in uptier, but it's not true at all. It can handle uptier pretty well. It has a very nice apfsds (dm33) wich will go trough any vehicle you can face with. However i don't recommend frontal engadgements with this tank. It's survivability is quite nice face to face, thanks to the motor in the front, most of the times it can handle 1 maybe 2 shots, the turret can be tricky and might bounce a shot sometimes but it's better to be used as a flanker. It has a nice speed and agility for flanking and stuff. Since the crew is in the back of the tank, getting shot in the back is instant death by anything that'll hit you. The plus plates on the front can be useful when you face with autocannons. 30mm cannons can only penetrate the lower plate so it's better to get into positions where you can hide that spot. I use the tam2ip in a lineup alongside with the leo l44 and the bgltpz 57. I use it early game to get into wide positions as fast as possible to spot hostile vehicles or to try a possible ambush from their flanks. If i get killed then i use the l44 for back line support and sniping or the bgltpz if there are enemy choppers up. @@LunarsX

@@LunarsX It doesn't matter in my opinion. Playing with and against modern tanks requires a different playstyle then what we've experienced with ww2 tanks. Sure map knowledge is more vital at this rating, but you can always watch tutorial videos of positions and learn how to play more efficiently match by match. If you really want to play with modern tanks and to grind with them, then go for it. It will be fun even if the beginning might be a little weird and hard. It was hard for me too. I had to adapt to the pace of the matches, to learn new spots on the maps, to experience that people in modern tanks are pushing more aggressively and they arrive to their spots much earlier. It might take a few matches to have a nice experience, but it's definitely worth it. As for uptiers, yeah. I would say that it's quite even for me. Sometimes i get uptier and sometimes not. But as i said, uptier is not a big problem for this machine. It has everything to compete against higher tiers. I mentioned the optics is not too great, it's definitely not a sniper. It's more like it meant to be a middle/close range vehicle. That's why i do ambush tactics and flanking with the tam, it suits her abilities. It's fast, agile, has a nice kick with the dm33, it's optics is meh but okay for close range, and has a drone wich helps to find the best momentum for an attack.
The echo has gone, but it still doesn't sound right - it's too crisp(?) or too much treble and not enough bass. It's almost too clear. Hard to explain, but you sounded better with your headset yesterday. A quick look at a mic eq setup video, suggests that it might be a tiny bit of 'de-esser' that you need.
I can agree with this. It's so crisp that its like hes talking directly into my ear. It definitely sounds good but it sounds kind of like an ASMR video
Think it's a little weird that this is one of the newest vehicles in game and yet it is lower than the TAM 2. I heard that it's because it's based off of the Tam 1 though, so that would explain it.
@@Tankenstein The TAM 2C has AMAZING gen 2 thermals and a CITV with the hunter-killer capability in-game. and faster accelerations. It is more suitable for flanking maneuvers, but the TAM 2IP is more of an MBT(Leo a1a1(l44) come to mind) if it stays at 8.7, it would be an amazing purchase, BUT if it goes up to 9.0, I would personally still buy the Leo a1a1(l44) because it have thermal which is VERY important at this battle rating.
So you duble recommend buying if for half the price x)? I consider buying it to grind out V rank tanks i already have the helicopter but i miss any tanks at this br. Also it would be my first serious purchase in this game :P

@@pistajozska842 I generally have a hard time understanding you, but I'll try my best. As of right now, toptier sits at 11.0, meaning 10.0 almost always gets sucked up there. Trust me, I only play 8.7 -> 11.0. But even then, you can't use the argument 'you play uptier most of the time' because soooo many other tanks already get uptiered constantly, namely 6.7 and 10.0+ tanks. Thermals aren't everything, especially not for what the TAM 2IP is made for. Are you seriously arguing that the 120mm L/44 cannon on the Leopard 1A6 isn't good enough? At 9.0, you have basically more pen than anyone else you can possibly meet, maybe except for M1128. This means that, even in uptiers, you can penetrate people without problems.
I was planning on doing that next or just after my next review. The WMA301 is great in my opinion, based on what I saw in the dev server. Almost like a Chinese Stryker

Class 3 (P) also has DM-33... makes the German 8.7 BR pretty deadly if you have these two in your line up.
TAM, TAM 2IP, Begleitpanzer, Leopard A1A1, Gepard, JaPz.K A2, Class 3P, two separate G.91s, the best starter helicopter, Germany truly suffers.

DM 33 can blast through the T72 Turms upper glacis. The C2A1 is the best of the TAM 2IP and the Leo L44
Got this beauty today. It's still a beast. Especially when you install the arknights lappland skin on it.

Leo A1A1 L/44 is your safest bet. It's been sitting at 9.0 for ages which is just.. unfair. Tam 2IP will be 9.0 or 9.3 in the next patches.

leo l44 is a amazing tank. I have make more than 400 kills with it....
@@confuseddane9810 Yeah the leo has 120mm L/44 but only gets DM13 ammo which is more than fair at 9.0. T72A at 9.3 has 3BM22.
