very nice video. I'm trying to learn about the FBD and FBD features in MasterCam. My MasterCam 2017 will not allow me to unassociate the drilling operations after creating them with FBD like you do at ~ 10:50 in your video......
I do see that you are correct. In 2017, they must have removed the option to delete the original FBD operation. That being said, it does appear you can reorder and edit your individual operations with no ill effects. As long as you don't re-enter the FBD parameters, it should maintain whatever changes you make to the individual operations.
That's pretty much how I've found it to work. Looks like once you run the FBD path the paths are pretty much free from the FBM parent. Now I can't find a way to make a change to the whole group, only way I find to "regenrate" the FBD is to delete it and run it again........ Thanks!
Thanks for the informative tutorial. I have been using FBM drill 2017, and have been unable to create tapping cycles. On the features table I have re-selected the hole type as "Tap RH", then choose the tool size. It then shows a warning; "tool requires a pilot hole". The tap has a pilot hole defined in its parameters, pilot hole is selected on the pre-drilling tab. How can I correct the warning?
hey fast tech guy, try ALT + E, this will minimize all your folders...or reopen them...may have to do it a couple times to get them the way you want! let me know if this helps
+Kaiming Wang I am not aware of a way to do this. The reason being, when you pick a machine type, you are switched into a different Mastercam Product. If all you have is CAD, then you are working in Mastercam Design. In this case, when you select the mill then you are switched into Mastercam Mill which has to have at least one machine group in the Operations Manager. One way that you can accomplish this would be to start a new file, then use the 'File > File Merge/Pattern' option. Then you can select the file which contains the geometry that you want and it will import. In this case you can now save the file which will still be in Mastercam Design and will not contain a Machine Group. Additionally, if you just want to switch to another machine type. You can always select a new machine from the Machine Type. Once the new Machine Group is created, you can delete the first one you had.
This video humbled me. I realize now how little I know about Mastercam.
Thank you for sharing this wealth of knowledge. Very gifted teacher.
He sounds similar to Bootsy from AVGN. Like a Buddhist monk lol.
Very helpful video. Great teacher.
Awesome video! Thank you!
Best teacher 👍

Thank you sir this tutorial is very useful learning. One more question how do darw critical solid drawing in mastercam give some ideas thank you sir

Oscar Siguenza Thank you for the suggestion. Will definitely give this a try!
Can you tell me how to delete machine group? I try to click "delete" button but it doesn't work
