i will be 56 years old man this july, saw this movie about 5 times and each time i have cried like a baby, i love seeing the love Coach jones had for Radio, and the courage he showed doing a time when the kindness showed was not welcome by many, my home is Agusta Ga, when i was 16 i got my first speeding ticket in that city, giving my frined a ride to see his girl friend, when i went back to see the judge and pay the ticket, it was just me and him and he treated me like a long time friend talking about things othere then my speeding, gave me words of wisdom and a young black man growing up in the sought, Coach Jones reminds me of that Judge, i have often thougt of him and the postive impression he left on me. i think this is the small town that wonderful peopel come from,

I didn't cry but it doesn't mean it didnt touch me, i mean my nose and eyes were feeling tense when radio was crying in a jail cell but i havent finished the movie im an hour and literally 13 minutes in with exactly 35 minutes and 18 seconds to go, so I might but I find it insulting and your generalizing statement souldnt include those that have stronger nerves or different personalities.

Who could not appreciate this interview. The humanity the coach and the community showed to Radio of a small town and to rally around a person who had no path to enjoying life in is his own way. It does show that people inherently are good natured and can stand against a handful of those who have no compassion or loving spirit. Thanks to those who discovered this wonderful story.

Hi Everyone! I think that James Robert " Radio ' Kennedy is an inspirational role model. At school I have a friend who is just like sweet and very gentle. Her name is yahara she is very shy. Also since I'm on Christmas break, I can't wait until I see her! Well when I saw the movie I thought it was the most emotional, devine, and inspiring motion picture of 2003. And the Academic award winner nominee did a GREAT JOB playing Radio in this very heart- warming film. Just beautiful.

Commonsensemedia.org I think missed the point with the message of Radio's story. It's not just about the importance of kindness. When people look at someone and evaluate them and their growth according to cultural norms and others', they tend to see them as defective. There are indeed challenges that he faces, and sometimes, there may be legit cases where something really is wrong. In the case of Radio, however, coach Jones in the movie stated it quite well. The problem wasn't Radio, it was us. This lesson applies to even parents who try to help their children grow, sometimes trying to encourage them to do better, but find that it isn't helping them, because it just makes them feel like something is wrong with them and that they can't do anything on their own. The way we see people like Radio or a child who maybe learns more slowly, for example, is more of the problem than we think. Coach Jones saw a kind of potential in Radio that no one else was even willing to give a chance, and Radio taught everyone around him an important lesson instead of the other way around.
