- I saw this on TV on the National Geographic Channel about a week ago and not many people have seen it yet so I figured I'd share it. I thought it was pretty good...

As a video editor, I've gotta say, this is one gorgeous piece of work. My collegues and I were just discussing our fave ads of the last couple years and I tossed this one out as a real "editor's prowess" kind of cut. The closing sequence of the train and logo in particular, are killer. Very powerful stuff. Hope the client loved it as much as I did :-)
This was a good commercial with a good tune to back it up!!

@GulfWindProductions: Indeed not the normal nonsense of pretty pictures of flowers, this is the first one of their commercials that I have actually liked.
There are days where I cannot get this song out of my head lol. It is a cool commercial but I wish they had made it longer.
@CN413Fox Yeah I must agree, regardless of which railroad you find the best the commercial is quite good. I hope all other railroads try to model theirs after this one!

@GulfWindProductions It's very cool! I wish there was more video of it, though we do know a lot of it. Seeing operations is just plain exciting to me! I could watch a division dispatcher or a locomotive engineer do his job all day, honestly.

@CSX453 The one time Ive been to Cumberland I saw a welded rail train (didn't have my camera). I quickly found out its a quiet zone

I felt that it was very well done as well (albeit a bit biased being a train-nut myself). But still a very concise and grabbing work, emphasizing what they do as a railroad, not just the actual trains themselves. I hope they continue to have more done like this!

I'm not sure exactly, I think the producer that made the commercial for CSX may have composed the music. If I find out anything else I'll be sure to let you know!

@GulfWindProductions That is ok . I went past Cumberland to Go to Hyndman right thru Downtown seems like a good place to railfan you have tracks that split off there to. I never did stop to railfan in Cumbo I went on a Sat. I caught like 6 trains I think.

@GulfWindProductions They wouldn't do it. NS has some pretty cool videos on here that show glimpses of that, like the construction of the Shelocta Line.

@nikosjk1 Tell me about it man, commercials are supposed to represent what your company does, not all that fluffy nature and environmental crap, that doesn't say anything about what the railroad is actually doing. CSX turned it around for this one,

Would you idiots PLEASE stop saying it's "No New Tale To Tell" by Love and Rockets. It's not. Wish I knew who it was though. Probably just some random studio band that makes music for commercials. It's pretty groovy.
