  • I have found Concrobium Mold Control to be more effective and safer alternative to Bleach. If the surface has dirt over the mold, the dirt should be cleaned off prior to applying. I was able to personally mitigate a large Mold Problem, using Concrobium. Hopefully it will work for you too. There are many things that should be addressed to control moisture and mold issues. Please take a look at the other videos on this channel dedicated to this. Be proactive and protect your home. Last year I preemptively fogged my crawl space due to what I thought was a mold problem in June 2020. Fast forward to July 2021 it was another issue related to vapor intrusion but also put us out of our house while real mold developed in my basement. Every place I fogged last year with Concrobium does not have any trace of mold. Only the places that were not treated are infected. I am going to try this and report back. The only thing you have to ensure is that where you are fogging is bone dry before applying.

    Just did the attic area of our mobile home with concrobium. Bought a very nice fogger on EBay for $124. Worked like a Champ !! Sprayed 32 feet !! Went to the roof and removed the turbine vents for access. Will do another application this Fall to be sure. We ish me luck !!

    Personally, I used Cleaning Vinegar, it's 10% Acetic Acid compared to regular Vinegar at 5%. It killed all my black mold dead. it's very inexpensive about $5 per gallon. I soaked the black mold twice over two days. I used a one gallon pressure tank sprayer I bought for $69. Half of my basemenrt was heavily infested, Not anymore and done very cheaply.

    Can this be used in a RV? Had a leak and it’s old and smells a little musty, don’t see any mold but I just wanna be safe. My concern is
    damaging the RV structure, rubber seals, electrical, couch etc.

    Vinegar. 100% non diluted is the only thing that leaches into porous services. Put it in a garden sprayer and spray heaviest affected areas first. That is 100% all natural, and no residue. So I sprayed everything heavily with this before fall..

      I suspect the effective ingredient in Concrobium is Vinegar. I also use 30% Vinegar for mold too.

    Without a doubt, Concrobium is the best. I tried other disinfectants and they were not effective. This stuff really works and I assume unless there is substantial amounts of mold build up, you don’t need to wipe off the mold since this product explicitly tells you not to.

    I use concrobium for all of our Crawlspace work. You can overdo it. About 5 minutes in each corner and then another 2-3 minutes in the middle will do the trick. The drying is what kills the mold. Also, Jomax and bleach for anything green and mildew.

    Thanks to your video sounds like this will work perfectly for the mold problem in our small bathroom. Questions: should I remove the caulking before application? and is the humidifier necessary having a big window to dry it out afterwards? Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

    • @southernhometalk2465
      @southernhometalk2465  3 роки тому +6

      This product works best when dried fast. so a dehumidifier will expedite drying. I recommend everyone have a humidity monitor inside the home to monitor humidity. You cant feel humidity at 60% and mold can grow at 60%. I call this the problem no one thinks they have. Please take a look at some of the other videos I have on this issue. I dont know what to tell you about the caulk removal, but I would use caulk that has a fungicide in it in the future. Always run bath fans at least 10 minutes after every bath or shower. Thanks for watching my videos.

    Thanks for the video. Were there any musty smells before you fogged? Did they stick around after you fogged? I'm thinking about fogging my crawl space with concrobium because it smells musty and I can smell it in the house sometimes, and then blowing the air out of the crawl space with a fan set at the entrance. I have a sump pump installed and the next step is probably a French drain, but in the meantime I'd really like to knock back some of the smell.

    • @southernhometalk2465

      Hi Robert, my crawl space was horrible and had a very strong mildew odor. After a heavy dose of Concrobium, it killed the mold and smell. Its important to take measures after fogging to prevent its return. Preferably by a qualified Crawl Space Encapsulation Contractor.

      @@southernhometalk2465 Sunday the temperature is going to dip into the 50s and the humidity is only supposed to be 54%, which, in terms of humidity, is as close to the manufacturer's recommended levels to apply the concrobium as it gets in my area, so I'm fogging then. I'll let you know how it goes. Thank you again for this video -- there are many more good reviews for concrobium on sites like Amazon than bad reviews, but this video is one of the ones that have kept me going as I've waited for temperature and humidity levels to get where I can finally fog the crawl space. I simply have to do something about it because the smell is horrible sometimes, even if it doesn't work.
      So, you had your crawl space encapsulated? I had someone give me a quote on encapsulation, but I wasn't very impressed. He was using the very same textbook sales techniques for quick sales that I was taught when I used to sell roofs and windows, so I could tell that he wasn't speaking to my real concerns and was only trying to get me to sign up for financing right then and there so he could make a sale. I haven't read nearly as many good reviews online about crawl space encapsulation as I have about concrobium. In fact, I've read many more bad reviews about crawl space encapsulation than good reviews, ranging from it not working, to it occluding bug problems, to water still getting in, to it not addressing existing smells, to it creating new smells, to having to get it redone by another company because the first one didn't do it right -- not much to give me faith in getting an encapsulation, to be honest, especially with that price tag. How's your encapsulation going? Is it working as well as promised?

    • @southernhometalk2465
      @southernhometalk2465  2 роки тому +1

      @@robertparker5666 My encapsulation is doing well. What I recommend is watching several videos on encapsulation. There is one channel on youtube, titled "Crawl Space Ninja" he is pretty knowledgeable. I have a few on my channel. Once you become knowledgeable on how it should be done, you can supervise the contractor. I did mine myself. It has to be done correctly to work. But if done correctly. it has the potential to mitigate many issues.

      @@southernhometalk2465 I've definitely watched some of his videos -- I watched dozens of crawl space videos trying to figure out what to do with the smells coming from my crawl space. The concrobium definitely left a very fresh scent, though I don't think it's going to last. Hopefully it's dried while I was at work today. I'm going to stick a fan in the crawl space when I get home tonight.

    You should have dried the area prior to using Concrobium mold control....if you apply it to a wet surface, it will dilute the Concrobium and you won't get uniform coverage!

      @@berthull9333 Yes, I did watch the video....he speaks of employing the dehumidifier to dry the crawlspace AFTER applying the Concrobium and allowing it to 'soak in' overnight! I don't believe he said that he used the dehumidifier prior to the application of Concrobium. There is moisture present, otherwise there would no be fungal growth (mold). The area should be dried PRIOR to the application of Concrobium...drying after it's applied, I think, would be of benefit as well as the Concrobium's mode of action is that it encapsulates the mold, suffocating it, and then as it dries, it shrinks, hence crushing the mold all the way down to the spore!

    I’m curious how quick this stuff works. Recently had a Home Inspection on my house I’m selling. The mold was caused by the bathroom vent fan in the attic. I had all intentions to kill and clean the stains. The house has been empty during a remodel so the wood has had plenty of time to dry. When I received the buyers report the very next morning I was spraying the mold with this stuff. The buyer hasn’t been responsive to what repairs and such they want done….. Without contacting me first they sent a Mold Remediation company the next day. 24 hrs after spraying they were there testing. I didn’t get to talk to the Mold inspector and haven’t heard back yet.

      Based on my experience using this product, it works best when large amounts are used and the drying process is accelerated with a dehumidifier. I also let this product soak in for 24 hours before I turned on the dehumidifier.
