    Some initial observations.
    1. There is no way in hell that Senior Management, today or in the near future, will allow a computer to **automatically** change a budget or hire resources for a project.
    2. AI, yes, will make users more efficient at some jobs, just like PCs did in the 1980s, the Internet in the 1990s, Search and Email in the 2000s, and Mobile did in the 2010s. This is an Evolution, not a Revolution. People lost jobs all along this path, but many new jobs came out of it too.
    3. AI does not have the Emotional intelligence or people skills that will allow it to directly manage anything that involves humans.
    4. Many people today HATE Chatbots. AI seems like a Chatbot on steroids. There is nothing people hate more than fighting with a computer that doesn't give them the solution to their problem and won't allow them to escalate or talk to a real person. I don't see AI changing this.

      Yeah, I agree all three observations are valid. And I don’t think project management will get top priority in AI development.

      Thanks for writing and sharing your thoughts.
      As I wrote above, everyone agrees that ChatGPT will enhance the productivity of people, not replace them.
      But in the case of project management, I see a different issue. Specifically, AI will enhance the communication and management skills of people with core skills (e.g., software engineers and QAs). As a result, small projects will no longer need a full-time project manager.
      What do you think about this option?

      @@ITProjectManagers As a Project Manager you still play an emotional intelligence game, which ChatGPT will not be able to interpret. Thats what i think. Itll help but itll not replace

      By the way, one thought came to me after I recorded the video. In many professions, like marketing, sales, and engineering, the fear that AI will replace some roles has already disappeared. That's because it's clear that AI can't replace those roles. Instead, everyone agrees that it will enhance the productivity of those people.
      In the case of project management, I see a different issue. Specifically, AI will enhance the communication and management skills of people with core skills (e.g., software engineers and QAs).
      As a result, small projects will no longer need a full-time project manager. That is the most significant impact I see for the next year or two.

    Were you able to get something on AI for project management?

    • @ITProjectManagers
      @ITProjectManagers  5 місяців тому +1

      Not really. At this stage AI can speed up your research and help you write some documentation.
      However, anything more complicated requires too much effort to provide AI the input it needs.

    I use AI to save me lots of time. It comes to basically the same conclusion I would but with an hour of research and data crunching in 10 minutes of figuring out how ask the right questions and using the answers to give me something I can polish up on. I think you are spot on; basically many entry level jobs will get whacked by AI and if robots get involved same thing for ditch digging physical jobs. People will have to hang out in school longer and longer. I hope societies realize that and then what is the role of those that cant get a phd worth of education? That's where I fear it is going. But we have to talk about project management - sounds like I need to use Jira - right now I use a combonation of MS365 tools and the PSA of the clients. If I had my own platform that interacted with clients PSAs it would likely be better?

      It's great to hear that you're using AI to streamline your work and make more efficient decisions. AI can indeed be a powerful tool for processing large amounts of data quickly and helping us make informed choices.
      By PSA do you mean Professional Services Automation? I'm not sure how you, as a project manager, interact with it. To provide any piece of advice, I need more context.

      Autotask, Connectwise, HALO, for example. But yes, PSA, CRM, ITSM.
      These software suites have everything embedded, sales, service tickets, projects, customer relationships, billing, accounting, documentation, etc. All in one. In the past they have been limited and unwieldy for PM but are getting better. The part that makes them usable is because of the integration with all the business parts in one place.

    What AI tool did you use in the beginning of the video?

    • @ITProjectManagers

      What do you mean? The one I used to create a talking head? Because there's no such project management tool as shown in the beginning of the video. It's just a joke.

    Ai is only as good as it's inputs. It is great for replicating projects, and horrible at making new ones.

    • @ITProjectManagers
      @ITProjectManagers  11 місяців тому +1

      Totally agree. So, do you think it will be great at making new ones by replicating past project WHEN SaaS companies feed it all the available data?
