Fabuleux !
This is fabulous playing for my taste. I love his somewhat slower tempos. This playing is so musical without showing off. He chose to play my favorite pieces too so that didn't hurt. Now I know what Rubinstein meant.
I hadn't heard these before. I've followed the competition for 20 years and attended some of it in 2015. I don't remember anyone with this kind of poetry. Finding all kinds of details, distinct colors for individual parts and pieces. Marvelous.
He really plays from the heart! This is something which is lacking in some of today's young prodigies. I could listen to this all day! RIP Maurizio Pollini.
My, 18 years old!! How I wish these performances somehow make their way to recordings! The playing here is pure beauty. And speaking of recordings, does this one exist and where!
11:50 how fresh.. I wish there could be a studio recording of such pacing. A bit too simple - but here the piece is nonetheless insaaaaaaanely well stated for what it should deliver on.
I don’t get it? The first piece and etudes are two completely different recording devices and I don’t believe for a second that the first one is from the actually first round of the competition
There were definitely moments when he lost the melodic thread and just hit the notes in order and on the beat. 😢The concluding Polonaise was a better close.

An amazing boy who has kept the promises by becoming a great in history of pianism🌹❤️
Astonishing. He was eighteen.
Not a pollinni fan but this sounds wonderful--bravo
Happy 79th birthday to maestro Maurizio Pollini, the greatest of all time! 🎂

What did Rubinstein say about him?
@@LiborunAR said, "He already plays better than any of us on the jury."
The impromptu is just superb
Best I heard so far
It is very moving to hear this : a star is being born and will continue on ils wonderful path ... A thousand thanks Maestro, and my best wishes ...
And Thank you to Jun Kumazawa !!!
I’m glad you enjoyed this gem. Thank you too for your beautiful comments!
Listening to Polini's unspoiled music as a rookie made me feel fresh and pure from the sound.

Good afternoon!!!! Thanks a lot ,maestro Pollini
A great genius is dead .

Wonderful artistry then and now. Many thanks to whoever put this up. Best wishes to MP.
Wow, his performance of the polonaise is surprisingly good, especially for an 18 year old pianist!
Resterà sempre nei nostri cuori. ❤
Grazie ❤
Thank you for this GEM 🎶 (+wonderful image!)
Adieu Maître, merci...
Pianists today are nothing but pure machines. Don’t waste your time on any if them. He was great
He really plays from the heart! This is something which is lacking in some of today's young prodigies. I could listen to this all day! RIP Maurizio Pollini.
Thanks Jun for these gems!
Thank you too for your comment! ☺️
a nice "innocent" interpretation... with plenty of Polish Dance and spirit... his rubato and nuances are just delicious...
My, 18 years old!! How I wish these performances somehow make their way to recordings! The playing here is pure beauty. And speaking of recordings, does this one exist and where!
I think they've been available for years. I wish someone had filmed them! There are small snippets, but that"s all.
Es divino este improumtu. Favorito gracias 🌹🥇
Bravisimo !!!!
As expected! Mr Perfect.

El estudio #1. 🇮🇷. 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Just Beautiful. Shame on me, never beard this impromptu.
I saw him in Hong Kong many many years ago.
Thank you a lot! A question: any Ballad in the musical programme?
Thanks for your comment! Yes, any Ballade wasn’t included in the program of all the stage.

A.Rubinstein as judge!
And he said no one on the judge panel could play as good as the 18 year old.
No comparen. 🎉
Anuncio fijo. Se pierde la emoción al pianistá. ❤
Uguale in studio o dal vivo

Ya te extrñaba. .Mauricio. Polini.
Sounds very good. Is it the piano or the pianist?
This is from competition? Not studio recording? How is this even possible...
No QEPD. Lo escuchas ??
Consolásion ??
25:32 Alone would have convinced the JJ.
mmmm...good to hear, a little less voicing and warmth than I prefer however
how could his fingers move so fast
🇮🇷🥉☝️😂

His interpretation lacks a rhythmic backbone.
Dry and metronomic. One of the worst Impromptus op. 51 on record.
There were definitely moments when he lost the melodic thread and just hit the notes in order and on the beat. 😢The concluding Polonaise was a better close.
And still better than you could ever imagine.
are you high
That's a very erratic metronome you have
loooool yeah @@jonathanparry3192
Pollini is a great pianist but not a legend, there are many better pianists than him.
Sta zitto
