Wow! Wow! Wow! collector//emitter doing the Afterneath V3…it’s an ambient dream come true. I thought too much time had passed and I’d never see the day! Ordered my Afterneath last week and then two days later the Champion Leccy Swan Hunter- my top two collector//emitter video/soundtracks!
Great vid, am inspired to play mine again tomorrow (I send CV or an LFO to the xp socket). Spent the whole video watching the little van going back and forth at the bottom left hand corner.
I've had a v1 and now v3... Just a gorgeous and unique verb. Don't think it can ever leave my board (until they make stereo version!). Your playing and settings are fantastic as always 🍻
CB Talisman. Or the Hardwire Reverb pedal. The later has KILLER buffers, use them to sound good, turn off the true by-pass.. Hardwire Supernatural Reverb is also a good choice for the same reason. The weird ambience stuff are not metal shredding devises. I love my Digitech HW Supernatural, it will drive a DI box no prob , and the modulated plate, , really freaking good. Real gear, made in USA.
Carl Douglas and more? I feel like I got cheated out of version of Kung Fu Fighting. Good demo though, pedal is amazing. Don't know how I missed this one, as I tend to buy pedals like it's my first trip around the Monopoly board. I'm learning how to play ambient guitar, that makes the Afterneath doubly tempting. Wondering whether my cheapo M-Audio expression pedal would work with it.
Please help... I didn't understand The mode knob. It only change the sound when turning the drag knob or it affect the sound when the drag knob is static too?
Same, I just got one, the knob is smooth turning-no affirmative click for the mode- the LED just changes color. Like I'm supposed to remember what color 6 is... Still a killer sounding pedal though.
What is the difference between using the OBNE style expression control and a foot pedal style? I got the foot pedal exp and it doesn’t sound like yours
this is the most confusing pedal ever . basically you just turn the knobs randomly leave it on one setting forever. it kinda only does 1 thing but has 500 settings
I love the sounds coming from this pedal but i agree with you. I’ll crank one knob from side to side and i cant tell what its doing. Other than Length and Drag, i have no idea what the other knobs do, i cant hear a difference lol
I've had my afterneath for around a year now, and I'd be lying if I said that I didn't see where you're coming from. I think that the pedal is less about providing a wide sonic palette and more akin to giving you one specific sound with a good deal of potential for alteration; which is fine if you're a fan of that sound, but otherwise it's sort of a dud. As far as my experiences go: I think that the real strengths come about from playing with the delay repeats via the diffusion and drag knobs. Since the afterneath is basically a delay pedal disguised as a reverb, you can get some great sounds if you take advantage of that; I've managed to find some really nice pseudo-granular sounds and weird fractured echoes with a kind of call-and-response character. Like I say though, I do get what you mean. I think this is a great reverb if you stack it with more versatile ones, but I probably wouldn't use it as my go-to reverb.
That truck driver should be given a medal - he's the world's best backwards driver!
He is really skilled! As is my helicopter team that recorded the video 😜
What a great channel this is.
Nice bit of Oceansize in there

Utterly awesome. You're videos are really great man, I hope one day I can be as good as you at this

This makes me want to take the loudest stereo PA system to the wilds of Scotland and jam on an Afterneath.
That sounds like a good way to live!
One of my favorite pedals

May I ask what was the main reason you bought the v3? Since you already had the v1
@@JanVoo to control the drag with an expression pedal. It's so fun!
@@kevinhetzel8654 My wallet dislikes your answer... I'm afraid I have to buy the v3 now, too :S ;-)
this is my favorite reverb.
I regret selling this pedal especially since getting an expression ramper! Excellent demo as always
The reverse you did on this particular intro reminded me of some Stars of the Lid, who I know own the original version of this pedal.
stars of the lid used the afterneath?
I use the OBNE ramper on the fifths and octaves setting. Very cool.
I loved your demo so much that I bought one from ebay. Woops!
thank you for adding the obne - the combo of the two sold me. i'm on my way to pick them up.
Beautiful man, as always
i love this pedal has never left my board its potential is phenomenal
this was so peaceful to listen to 🙂
Beautiful
So good
Broken Social Scene in a box
Love me some good ‘ol mossbreaker 👍
2:25 Why is that semi truck driving backwards? doesn't he know that's dangerous? I like the sounds in my ears though thank you
Fave reverb outside last gasp misty cave and trans room. And yes she does shoe gaze.
You bet! I was borrowing it but might need to get one for myself
Anyone use it with high gain? I am a strict metal shredder. Trying to find a good reverb for metal.

Can anyone recommed band which plays like this style and tabs are available ?
Did you end up finding anything? If not, check out basically any post rock band.
Please help... I didn't understand The mode knob.

I can’t get over the mode knob not being labeled

The expression is v nice
Truck starts going backwards at 2:21 :-)
the combination sounds like the new bon iver stuff
Did you play death stranding
I haven’t, but I’d like to eventually
Wait what if I put a delay pedal before a reverb pedal would u just have this pedal already?
Where are the background pics from? Looks very familiar.
great job!
Thanks!

I got the foot pedal exp and it doesn’t sound like yours
Didn’t list the OBNE in the gear section of the description.
Why did u mention the different modes?
this is the most confusing pedal ever . basically you just turn the knobs randomly leave it on one setting forever. it kinda only does 1 thing but has 500 settings
The expression opens it up a lot.

really really interesting, however it sounds like a mono output ;0(
That's because it is.
understood....thanks
