It is easy to take the rings off. You have to use a ratchet to remove completely, no power tools. You also have to make sure your T40 Torx is completely inserted into the bolt head and that you are squared up as you are removing the bolts. If your Torx is not completely inserted into the bolt head you will strip the bolt head and round off your Torx. If you are not squared up when you are removing the bolts you will damage the threads in the wheels and the bolts will come out at an angle, as if the bolt was cross threaded on initial installation.
