I just wonder in what situations would we prefer Kendall Correlation over Spearman Correlation when they are both Rank Correlation.

Spearman is a more commonly used measure than Kendall, since it is easier to calculate programmatically. Kendall’s Tau uses ranks more explicitly, and is thus more “robust”. It is also easier to justify than Spearman if you need to explain the logic behind it.
