I've had the largest crush on her ever since I was a kid. I first saw her in Return to Oz back in the day. Launched my crush, those eyes get me every time.
"Kuh-joon" was hilarious as someone who lives right in the heart of the Cajun area in Louisiana. The accent of the old guy was extreme, but otherwise rather accurate - people with thick accents *do* sound like that around here. There is a very distinct and unique culture here, derived from mainly Canadian Acadian French, but also some Spanish and Caribbean influences as well. But the reaction was a lot of fun! Thanks for your time and effort!
When it comes to Adam Sandler movies I think 50 First Dates is his best one. It's an incredibly sweet love story, very funny and Drew Barrymore gets the opportunity to really show off her acting chops. Not to mention a penguin and walrus that steal every scene they're in. I know you'll love it.

I have lived in Louisiana for over 25 years now, and this movie is a funny stereotype of the ingenuity of some of the residents. Also I love your pronunciation of Cajun.

Cajun (pron. Kay - juhn [like jump]) were people who in 1604 came primarily from the Vendee region of Western France and migrated to Acadie (now Nova Scotia) where they prospered as farmers and fishers. They migrated to Louisiana where the fishing along the coastalways was greater. They became known as the Louisiana French but are still referred to as Cajuns. There diet (because of their location) consists mainly of seafood, more specifically shellfish. It's also generally spicy. They do eat alligators, squirrels, and snakes as well, amongst other things. If you ever get the chance to go to New Orleans (especially for Mardi Gras) make sure you stop off at Cafe du Monde for Beignets and a cup of Cafe Au Lait. They've been there since 1862. Prepare to wait in a long line though. Anyway, glad you got to see this movie, loved the review, love you, take care and stay safe ❤️
Your pronunciation of “Cajun” is so cute. I believe that the proper pronunciation of the word is “Cay-Jun” (rhymes with “Ray Gun”), not “Cah-Joon” the way you pronounced it. Cajun is essentially Louisiana French. Louisiana was originally settled by the French, and as such much of Louisiana culture has French roots. Many cities in Louisiana were named after French cities and towns. New Orleans, for example, was named after Orleans, France. You might remember Del in “The Green Mile” speaking French? That’s because the character was from Louisiana. I love this movie and I loved reliving it by watching it with you. Your laughter brought a smile to my typically grumpy face. I can’t wait for your next movie reaction.
This is a really sweet movie. It's the kind of thing young me didn't really notice so much. As for favorite AS movie, I'm going to go a different way and say Reign Over Me.
Another couple of my favorite sports (football) comedies are Longest Yard (also Adam Sandler) and Necessarily Roughness. Both examples of great fun football movies where it’s team growth over getting to the championship game.
Every single football player in the U.S. at that time fell in love with this movie. It's kind of a cult classic among that generation of football players. Everyone would quote some l line from the movie for at least 7 years after it was released. Fun movie. And with the nature of the sport, all of us could relate to some component of BB's character in one way or another. Good stuff
If you grew up in this area of Louisiana, then frog legs, gator and stuff like that is kind of normal. I remember me and my friends going out at night and hunting bullfrogs and my grandma would make fried frog legs for us.
I loved the Waterboy, but the Wedding Singer is probably my favorite(Happy Gilmore a close second). If you like Adam Sandler as a naive character, Little Nicky is also good. There are also some Sandler produce movies that he is not in, but his frequent co-stars are. Grandma's Boy is an underrated classic. The guys who played his law school buddies in Big Daddy, and some of the Football players lead the cast of Grandma's Boy.
Fun fact-The guy who says he looks up to Bobby is Clint Howard. He actually had a brief role in OG Star Trek series as a kid, playing an Alien. You see him here and there throughout different Hollywood movies like “Apollo 13” and “That thing you do”. His brother is Ron Howard, who has directed multiple Hollywood movies like “Splash”, “Cocoon”, “Willow”, and “Ransom”.
It's funny how much American culture firsts she experiences from this movie= college football being big; Louisiana's francophone accents and stereotypes; giving the devil credit for all the good things
Bobby Boucher's dad played by Frank Coraci is the director of this film. He also directed The Wedding Singer, Click, Blended, Ridiculous Six. I read in another reaction video that Sandler's dad passed away during the filming of Click, so that hits harder for me nowadays.
I love how much you love the waterboy and clearly have a ton of compassion for people with any type of disability or bullied and that’s such an amazing personality trait to have , a beautiful trait. Have you done “50 first dates” with him and drew Barrymore? They’re best friends in real life so it’s really believable and hilarious.
The scenes at mommas house, including the outside picnic area were filmed here in Clermont Florida. I pass by that spot almost every day. The football games were filmed in the citrus bowl in Orlando.
Some of the food you see in the movie is exactly how it is in Louisiana. A friend of mine from Louisiana had me try gator meat and it was actually good.
The holy trinity of Adam Sandler Movies: Happy Gilmore The Waterboy and Little Nicky They are all loosely connected and get zainier with each one. As for my favorite, that would be "The Wedding Singer". Very Adam Sandler and a loving homage to the 80's. My wife and I saw that one together while we were dating
“We live to play another day,” the almost audible comment by the Cajun coach is one of my favorite lines in this movie. Most of what he says is ridiculous, but there’s a lot of wisdom in that comment.
The Waterboy and Happy Gilmore are up there as two of my favorite Adam Sandler movies, but the best by far (IMO) is The Wedding Singer. I would also suggest 50 First Dates, Blended, and Just Go With It.
A coworker and I were saying lines from this movie to each other all day at work 🤣. He started it by driving up to me saying 'high five high five high five' while trying give a high five lol. We were both in tears by the end of the day.

And with the nature of the sport, all of us could relate to some component of BB's character in one way or another. Good stuff
The Waterboy is probably my favorite Adam Sandler movie. Click is likely second and is super underrated, in my opinion.
Click is awful. Uncut Gems is his best movie followed by Happy Gilmore and Funny People (despite how awful Seth Rogen is)
@@markg1727 don’t know how you can say click is awful. One of the rare times Adam Sandler did a more serious role and he did an outstanding job.
@@joeydrummer7929 He played a more serious role in Funny People and Uncut Gems. He was fine in Click. The movie itself was just a disaster
If you grew up in this area of Louisiana, then frog legs, gator and stuff like that is kind of normal. I remember me and my friends going out at night and hunting bullfrogs and my grandma would make fried frog legs for us.
Hi Mary hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
I loved the Waterboy, but the Wedding Singer is probably my favorite(Happy Gilmore a close second).
Love ya Mary been enjoying ur channel lately
That Farmer Fran character....I promise you there are people in South Louisiana that sound like that
I'd say The Wedding Singer & Happy Gilmore are tied for me for best Adam Sandler movies.
College football is the second most popular sport in the US.
Adam is such a genuinely nice guy. I will always be a fan. I love him!
It's funny how much American culture firsts she experiences from this movie= college football being big; Louisiana's francophone accents and stereotypes; giving the devil credit for all the good things
50 first dates is my favorite Sandler movie. I really hope to see it on this channel soon.
Reactions are the devil.
“Who knew that college football would be covered on the news?” 😂 I don’t think there’s ever been a bigger understatement.🤣
All of the Adam Sandler movies of this generation were banger after banger. The Longest Yard is another amazing football comedy with Adam Sandler
The 90's were great for comedies, especially for the SNL crowd.
My favorite Adam Sandler movie is The Wedding Singer. Other great Adam Sandler movies are 50 First Dates, Mr
Deeds and Blended
My best friend Denise hates this movie with a passion. Lol 🤣🤣, her being from Louisiana she feels it's too stereotypical.
Great reaction. I think 50 First Dates and or the Wedding Singer will eventually be Mary's favorite.
GAAAATORADE!!!!
H2O!
The scenes at mommas house, including the outside picnic area were filmed here in Clermont Florida. I pass by that spot almost every day.
The football games were filmed in the citrus bowl in Orlando.
The Waterboy sucks. Gatoradeboy is better 😏
momma says you’re wrong
H2O!
Some of the food you see in the movie is exactly how it is in Louisiana. A friend of mine from Louisiana had me try gator meat and it was actually good.
Cajun.. Kay-Jun. You'll get a better pronunciation this way.
I dig your reactions too
The holy trinity of Adam Sandler Movies:
Happy Gilmore
The Waterboy
and
Little Nicky
They are all loosely connected and get zainier with each one.
As for my favorite, that would be "The Wedding Singer". Very Adam Sandler and a loving homage to the 80's. My wife and I saw that one together while we were dating
Mr deeds next
“We live to play another day,” the almost audible comment by the Cajun coach is one of my favorite lines in this movie. Most of what he says is ridiculous, but there’s a lot of wisdom in that comment.
The Waterboy and Happy Gilmore are up there as two of my favorite Adam Sandler movies, but the best by far (IMO) is The Wedding Singer. I would also suggest 50 First Dates, Blended, and Just Go With It.
'The Wedding Singer' is my favourite Adam Sandler movie, followed by '50 First Dates' and 'Little Nicky'. Great reaction!
A coworker and I were saying lines from this movie to each other all day at work 🤣. He started it by driving up to me saying 'high five high five high five' while trying give a high five lol. We were both in tears by the end of the day.
There's another good Adam Sandler movie called The Wedding Singer. It also stars Drew Barrymore. Thanks for the video.
