Merry Christmas to America and the world. More radio stations should play this song each year before Christmas. It would catch a lot of empty souls to pay attention to the message. Whether you believe in Christmas or not this song can catch one pay attention to the words maybe for the first time.

I’m listening Sept ‘23 and it reminds me of my Grampy I lost Christmas time last year, when I 1st discovered this song and listening tonight brought me right back there to that time. And reminded me how much I loved that man and how much I miss him. I just cried like a baby.

As far as I know, this is a very personal Robbie-song, celebrating the birth of his son. Maybe the "thumbdown trolls" are just wondering why that song is performed in Levon´s studio, since Levon spent the last 35 years of his life profoundly hating Robbie? Don´t get me wrong, though, I do NOT take side in that sad feud, I simply love and respect all five of the guys and bless them for all those great songs. And this one is great, too. So, no thumb down from me, only - thank you Amy and the rest of you for making this beautiful version yet another great BAND-song.

Robbie Robertson did this song on the soundtrack to "Scrooged", which i have on lp, cd and cassette. I even have the remastered soundtrack cd too. This is the second time i am hearing a cover version of this song.

I sure hope you've heard Rick Danko's version. The original, definitive version. Though I love this one. I've been in this room - for a Ramble with Levon, and Amy, and the Levon Helm band. A real treat to see this.
