Why are people saying the Aurora is op? it costs 2500 for standards and 2000 for air and swg. But then, one Aurora will never make a good trade off as it can't destroy most buildings in one hit, and it generally costs more to build an Aurora than that it costs to rebuild what it destroyed. Same thing when multiple Aurora's are used. It's not OP, it's a trade off weapon.
My opinion...... it may be a tradeoff weapon but if you're in a 1v1 game with limit superweapons, it is always OP. You can use your particle cannon for other things like power, defense and their supply and never worry about the superweapon of the enemy as long as you have 4 auroras. freaking OP. besides it may even be cheaper to rebuild the superweapon lost but the time it takes to rebuild AND to prepare a superweapon is veryy long. longer than training 4 aurora bombers.
The point is, no other nation in the game has access to such a trade off weapon. Yes, it's costly, but at least you have sth at your disposal that you know it can does the job 100% guarantied.
So okay. The Aurora Bomber is not invincible when told engage a target. If there's a good rule this engine has taught me is that hitscan weapons(weapons that instantly hit) except for, strangely enough, lasers cannot miss. But why on earth can a gatlings and quads miss aurora bombers? It's not speed nor invulnerability. It's because when they activate supersonic speed, the targetting is shifted behind their hitbox, there's a parameter under JetAIUpdate called SneakyOffsetWhenAttacking is basically makes targetting to them inaccurate by that amount. You can try proving this by having a weapon explode mid-air with a high enough damage radius.

Wait a second.. so taking away auroras invincibility while on an attack run makes it balanced? How about spending 2500$ to get one and not killing anything because it dies to some 700$ quad cannon? Auroras are fine. Obscenely expensive and extremely vulnerable. The SWG auroras need looking at in terms of damage but other auroras are fine. People may bring up having their superweapons killed by auroras as a reason that makes them OP. Yeah... you need like 5 auroras to kill a scud storm (4 for everything else). So youre paying 10000$ (or 12.5k) for the auroras to kill half of this value... and then lose the 10k because all auroras get shot down after their run. Real OP guys.
I agree. It's also worth noting that those four auroras take a while to build and can all be lost if someone takes out your airfield, which is not that hard to do. YOLOing superweapons only makes sense when playing against the AI, or with limited superweapons + campy strategies.

Aurora is like the Kamikaze unit of the game. You need 5 to bring down a CC (12k to kill 2k), 4 to kill a SW (10k to kill 5k). So, I think the philosophy behind this unit was the cost, but still made it too OP and banned in both Pro and Noob Rule. The most unfair unit is the Alpha Aurora. I mean the entire USA SW faction is unfair, half price SW, EMP Patriot, 30 energy power plant, and a 2k Aurora that has Tactical Nuke Mig upgrade already built in ... This game was real good PvP, so sad a few thing twisted it from being the top, and they were never balanced. Having 12 factions and Toxin, Infantry, Air were the only pro choices back then, was quite sad.

The exact reason why i cant stand playing challenger mode against Alexander and Granger.. Unless im using US. specifically Townes. I play Shockwave, so it makes them even harder since the auroras are slightly better.
@ tbh if you're using AF general or super weapon they're somewhat cheaper and a perfect counter against an important enemy target that's behind an impenetrable defence. Basically, you can reset your enemy's super weapon and call it a day. This will still cost a lot but if there's a good chance he can do more damage with that super weapon it's just better to destroy it anyway.
Super weapon aurora bomber is op as long as you don’t go deep into enemy territory but chip away at their defense slowly and cut in depose they work fine. Using this strategy I might loose 3-4 auroras per game out of like 50 attacks

From a period of time I look for a mod that has a special feature of the GLA stealth is that in a sniper soldier like Germain Keller and his shape like a normal soldier, but he can shot tanks and let them off like the advantage of Germain Keller, and can sniping the solders also, and you can training as much as you need .. i need the mod name

@@shadowscall7758 Still broken, it one shot almost every ground unit and unfortunately in most matches superweapons play minimal role or none built at all on the other hand tier 1 and 2 units were massed against each other and suddenly a flock of wild Aurora appear to snipe them all. Granger's and Alexander's is even more broken, BTW, thanks to point defense laser that shoot down missile and the mini MOAB that make the powerful AoE wider. And it even more broken in team vs team game, so no with a good micro/teamwork it's not guaranteed shot down. In short. the most broken aircraft in Generals.

Auroras are a shitty way to defeat GLAs. If they happen to upgrade their structure's armor, you would need 7 auroras to defeat their command center. Thats 17500$ for a shitty ass 2000$ command center that a worker builds again in no time. Not to mention that a supply center basically builds workers too and needs 4 auroras to be destroyed.
Alpha aurora bombers. When at that point, you have the money to waste such bombers. Money is meaningless when your literally filthy rich and swimming in money, it's a late game shit

It's not a matter of how fast the shot is, it's the targeting system. The bomber is too fast to be accurately tracked.

The Aurora Alphas of General Alexander in Shockwave are weaker than in Zero Hour, but they are still devastatingly powerful.

Super Weapon Auroras is much OP than Normal Aurora. you can use waypoint or fly them out of range to the defenses.
