Dean is also my favorite author with SK a close second. I just got House at the End of The World and looking forward to reading it. There is something primal about great characters representing good vs evil that Dean does so well. He is a national treasure.

We love Dean Koontz, too. What a gentleman and a wonderful writer. Such a joy to chat with him and we’ll-fingers crossed-do it again for the following book. In the audio version of the podcast, I made a number of episode recommendations for new listeners but if you tell me a little about your favourite authors and taste, I can make personal recommendations.
Almost 500 episodes available in audio form and we’ll be putting much more video out going forward.
      Thank you for listening! MDW

Just finished this book. The book, like all of his books that I have read, starts out giving details about the setting and characters a visual image within my mind. About halfway through the real action begins and with 100 pages to go, it goes into high gear and continually accelerates until the intense crescendo with only 7 pages to go. Those last 7 pages turn out to be real tear-jerkers
Now about Dean. I personally knew him for the first two or three years he began work as a writer. To say he was driven was a huge understatement. Why would I say that? I serviced his IBM Selectric Typewriter in their apartment. I also serviced Gerda's IBM Selectric at her place of business. I remember Dean saying exactly what he said today when interviewed, about working 12+ hours per day except Sundays. He takes a break on Sundays by only working 8 hours that day. Even though we talked as I serviced his Selectric Typewriter, I always felt guilty if I hung around after I was done because I did NOT want to be the cause of him not getting his writing done. I simply can not put into words how happy I am for Dean and Gerda to see the dream realized. They were truly very nice people. One thing he did was to give me a hardcover copy of his second published book, "After the Last Race". The one thing I'm so sorry I did not ask was for him to sign it. I did think of it when he handed it to me but I did not because I felt too self-conscious to do so. I just appreciated the gesture. Again, I am SO HAPPY to see they done good.
BTW: Dragon Tears is one of my favorites that he wrote.

I was kind of disappointed to get the impression that he is in favor of assault weapons. Don't think I'll read him anymore.
