This was actually in a music lesson because the teacher actually played the piano extremely well.

Anyone watching the Spice Girls especially from my generation when they came out, would know, (especially if you religiously watched the group over and over again) that even though everyone else could sing just fine, but when Melanie C sung the high notes a lot of kids were like she can really sing. I especially loved her backflips on stage in Wannabe and kids who were sportyminded especially in school thought that was amazing.

Before you start insinuating anything, she was named that as she was incredibly up-front and intimidating to early interviewers, lifting their shirts up and being crazy loud. Mel B herself loves her 'Scary Spice' nickname.

Personally I think the Spice girls were so lucky. It could never happen now. None of their voices are great or dancing was. Good on them but it could never happen now. The pressure on talent is way higher.
@@blerksnarfgut2766 in terms of girl bands. People talk more about their vocal talent then before. Its like Britney she can't sing but it didn't matter back in the day. Nowadays there's way more criticism on artists who can't sing in my opinion.
I disagree but for different reasons. You make emphasis on the voices and dances as if the music industry is only about that. The reality is that there are billion of people across the world that listen to music for different reasons. The USA has always been very inclined to vocals, especially R&B singers, like Mariah Carey. There has always been a demographic that are into music for vocal talent and lyrics but these people have a hard time accepting or even realizing the the world as a whole actually prefers pop and dance music. Artists like the Spice Girls, Madonna, JLO and even Britney Spears are great examples of artists that don't have amazing vocal talent but have brought fans in via catchy songs, a good beat and most importantly energy. I am someone like millions in the world that listen to music for the beat, for the flow for the energy. I would never want to go to a concert to stand and listen to someone like Mariah Carey or Adele, it would be extremely boring. In addition, even if I don't know you I know you live in an English speaking country and most likely only speak one language or have been exposed to your own culture at home, people like you also forget that there is a whole world out there where artists succeed. Let me use for example the song Rain on Me by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, that song debuted at No.1 in the USA, its fan base was mostly American, the video and song received about 300M views within a period of a year, to this day that video on UA-cam has not reached 400M yet it was very successful in the USA but when you compare it a song Pepas by Farruko, that song didn't even make it to the top 10 on the Hot 100 Billboard Chart in the USA but it reached No.1 in over 14 countries in the world it received over 400M streams and views, in a shorter period of time than Rain On Me. This is one of many examples on how the rest of the world is not just about what you think is popping or good. The reason why I don't think the Spice Girls would perform well in todays time is because the times are different, the sex liberation movement happened, the Spice Girls were part of that movement, the Wannabe video made headlines across the world at the time because they didnt wear bras and you could see their nipples! Today the Spice Girls' decision to not wear a bra is nothing compared to how heavily and disgustingly sexualized artists have become, the Spice Girls outfits were more like drag-queen outfits as opposed to current slutty outfits that Cardi B and many other females artists wear. Lastly, in English speaking countries, Gen Z's unfortunately have fallen for Rap, Urban and HipHop, the UK is pretty much the only market that keeps true pop and ballads alive. The reality is that both of us can assume but we'd never really know 100% then again, people also thought they wouldnt make it during their days, the forecast among people in the industry was a bit negative because there was no girl pop band out in the market to compare as a precedent. Luckily, they followed their instincts and Virgin records believed in their own concept - they weren't even manufactured - they made a niche in the market, they brought bubble gum pop back to the USA and other countries and sold an absurd amount of records in less than 2 years with just 2 albums, which by the way their number of sales takes today's big artists over 4 albums to compare.
@@huntybaby Lady gaga and Ariana Grande have very strong voices though. Also I don't listen to Adele or Mariah for the same reason. I prefer music to have more of a beat and rhythm. The spice girls to me where girls who were not extremely passionate about music, writing lyrics etc and pouring their soul into their art. That's more Kendrick Lamar style. However I do think Madonna was and still is. She doesn't have a strong voice. But she is extremely passionate about music that's why at the age of 63 she is still making it. She hasn't relied on a fashion brand like Posh or took another role on in presenting like baby spice did. Or become a judge on a talent show like Mel b. Madonna is still truly all about the music. Because it means more to her clearly. Same with Prince, MJ they only wanted the Music. The spice girls aren't these kind of musicians. I am Irish and in the early 2000s there was many manufactured bands that were put together by record labels with auditions. These were bands like Bewitched, Take that, Boyzone, Westlife and of course Spice Girls. Even though I grew up in that era I never fully took in the music because my parents would play music like Prince, Micheal Jackson, David Bowie, Madonna,Queen, Nirvana, Lauryn Hill etc All those artists were passionate in my opinion to the in fact some cases they died from it. They were so overcome and took their craft so seriously that it killed some of them. Artists like the Spice Girls who came after this aren't like that. They are all still around but not one of them makes music anymore. I know for a fact that artists like Kendrick Lamar, Lady gaga, Beyonce HAVE to make music because they love it too much. Mel C doesn't have that passion and I think because music is seen more on the Internet rather than albums you can't slip up as much. Britney who main career was early 2000s although had great songs would be called out more now for lip synching. For example I love Normani the only criticism I see about her is that people want her to sing live and dance which I think she struggles with. Back in the early 2000s she would of maybe got away with it more than now. The early 2000s although a great era for pop it was manufactured era in my opinion. Very little artists playing instruments unlike the 80s and 90s where most successful artists did. It was a time where catchy songs usually written by record labels would be performed usually either using lip syncing or bouncy dance routines. Before this it was truly about the lyrics and artistic quality of the performer. That's why Lauryns Hill is still so timeless and Nirvana etc. You can actually here the hard work that's gone into making those songs. I think today people are demanding that more they don't want the cheap pop music anymore. Again I think that's why artists like Kendrick lamar are being respected more than Cardi b/Tyga/Akon/50 cent/Chris Brown. Because people want more raw lyrics they are sick of hearing how rich or how many girls they slept with. Basically the Spice Girls belong to that era of the early 2000s, I don't think it could happen now because people demand more quality now. Again this is my opinion. Beyoncés new album took 4 years to make whereas the spice girls had 4 years in total of musical fame. That's a very short timeline. They existed the same time as Backstreet boys where all you needed was a catchy beat. There was very little concentration on lyrics and voice talent. Where as now its being more demanded like it was in the 90s and before that time.
She’s truly a humble, smart, talented artist.

The most irrelevant in spice girls
How in God's name does this relate to current world events and issues smh
It does.
You ok?
Spice Girls are still relevant, unlike you, you were never relevant and are a complete nobody.
