I love these too! I was born in 1983 so as a kid in the early 90s, these machines were popular and at almost every gas station all in different colors relative to the station in my town. It's a damn shame that I havent been able to find any of these machines around here anymore. We used to have a ton of these in northern Virginia... :/ It saddens me. I know ima grown man but damn, hahaha one of my dreams is to find one of these still operating someday. Nice find mpollux2
WOOW!! This video sure takes me back to 1991! haha between the years 87 and 96 my parents would go to these machines a LOT! And I still remember when my mother would tell me, ready to go to the car wash? hahaha. the good ol days! Thanks a million for this post!
That's a cool car wash video I would've taken a 1990 oldsmobile cutlass supreme to that car wash but that car wash video was taken in 1991 on HI8 video tape.
This type of car wash appeared here in Britain as there was one at a Texaco petrol station in Bristol but with green brushes, sadly the petrol station is no longer there as it was demolished & replaced by shops.
I don't this was in Grimes, Iowa as I have the wash across the street from Ryko and there is and never was a Arbys (at the end) in Grimes but awesome find for the R7B
it is gone he said it is used for hand washing by the the R7B in Norwood Young America, MN is still there just being used for storage and it is getting cleaned out now.
Wow. We've been filming car washes since (and maybe before) 1991!
That type of automatic car wash was very common during the 1970's and 1980's! However, some only had three brushes, not five!

Very interesting! I have 3 questions:
1. Was this really taken in 1991?
2. What is the address?
3. Is this R7B still there?
1. Yes
2. I unfortunately have no clue
3. More than likely it's gone.

@RykoUltraclean not the brushes are actually a combination of light blue and dark blue
Because this is an older car wash model and the older ones started that way...
yes!
I've never been to a Phillips 66. Either they were converted to Off-brand, or they closed.
why were the the brushes in the back pinwheels ?
Waaaaaah I wish we had R7B ultraclean car washes in the Houston area. It's too bad we don't have any in the Houston area. :(
tell me about it; there's not even a Ryko Rocket or Mark VII aquajet in Houston anymore!
thats only about 19 min away... the voyager APC is 20 min away
Wow
but, DTMF's are only programed for ryko systems only
Okay!
I built one of these in Minecraft... I replaced the brushes with Foambrite.
And What Happen To The Dryers?
most likely, never...... i called te gasstation and they said its taken apart and they use the bay for a handwashing thing
Where was this??????????

How did you know which Phillips 66 it was?
