On the return passes to the front (exit) of the bay, (from my perspective) it looked like the rear arms had amp-sensing issues. But for the wash itself, that was one hell of a comeback! I was quite impressed it was able to recover like that. And the staff seemed nice and patient with getting their machine back up and running. However, if that rear arm keeps acting like it was when cleaning the rear, it's definitely gonna create damage to the top brush; giving the fact of the top brush's condition: missing some strips in the middle of the brush. But other than that, that was a great wash there.
I used to love seeing going through one like this as a kid. One time, I made my uncle take me to the car wash and he had his radio on. Broke the antenna off (powered antenna) lol
Any car wash equipment that the owner has good faith in and cares about can last forever as long as the owner puts some time and effort into his work day at his gas station/car wash to maintaining the system and keeping it running.
Simplicity also helps. A lot of proprietary parts took over in bays into the 2010s. The manufacturers (mostly) control the parts supply and service now.
@@sunshinesuds That is cool, I have heard of Voyager I car washes from the 80s and early 90s surpassing 30 years of service and they still are in good shape. It won’t be long before the first Voyager IIs made that still remain surpass 30 years of service! Ryko makes good quality car washes that can last many years if well maintained.
Can't go wrong with vintage! I have never seen a vintage Ryko in better shape more then my R-784, The R-784 is older then the R7B and that system even beats any R7B I've seen on youtube, that thing is insanely clean for the late 60's!
Vintage Ryko systems, such as the R7B and R784 last the longest, this R7B I'd say has been going strong for like 50 years almost! It's incredible! I bet a newer softgloss couldn't even go 5 years.
I agree with you you I have a Soft Gloss were i live and it is all ready falling apart almost 5 yrs old location Viking Express Mart, Reedsburg, WI. Just encase you want to film it.
Damn, that is a BEAUTIFUL machine right there! It's quite sad to know that it's not in the best working order, but I'm glad it's still there and works! That foam at the start as well though, lmao. Great video!
Those gantry wheels need lubrication ASAP and it looks like the chemical pumps are malfunctioning. Also the blower nozzle oscilator seems to be busted and or poorly aligned. But it is nice to see a classic of the car wash industry still around. Maybe with some more love and care she could be running well.
Love the video glad to see the system is still running also happy knowing the owners are still doing there best to maintain it sounds like the bearing in the wheels of the gantry to move back and forth are going bad and I think the air pressure for the wash arms is a little high because the wash arms kind smack into the car and they position them selves pretty close with the front ones and maybe a new top brush but I enjoyed the video ending made me laugh... great job
I have to ask, was this taken before March 2019? Sometime early 2019 they added brushes, rinse arches, and dryers to the self service bay which a video from March 2019 shown this, but in your video, all of that is missing unless they removed it.
It was actually closed when we arrived. The incredibly hospitable employees opened it up for me since we drove so far even though it's been malfunctioning.
@@thecarwashelevatorfanatic7433 well no I do I need to go get a car wash and film it after it’s been like 2 to 3 months since I got one plus I got a new phone for a little better quality and my uncle is in a contest to win the iPhone 13 for me
Another awful Ryko still going strong. How they can say its a car wash buisness with a faulty machine I will never know a good car wash buisness needs clean equipment not faulty also good apperances matter not look like its ready to intro intensive care over all great video
Dont you know its one of the best rykos out there its just becoming terrible old and sadly its not holding up like it used to it is a great machine it just needs some work and dont believe me come to Kirkland Washington where we have an R-784 that RUNS like new and it has been crashed into at least sevral times and it STILL runs AWESOME
bigburger boi2005 Ryko are the worst car wash company ever no wonder they failed in Europe and United Kingdom so what you are are saying maybe true in some ways but but the technology is very unreliable it always breaks down needs maintenance all the time and is very faulty the majority of them in the United Kingdom and Ireland got abandoned and ended up getting replaced with Christ or WashTec
@@Wesumatex2020 Will the newer systems like the softgloss and radius your right but the Voyager and R7B they are pretty replyable its just an old machine so of course its not going to be as good as it was but it probably was excellent when it was new same with the R-784 in my state
Modern washes don’t scratch, but old ones like this that run filament do. Most modern machines have switched to a closed cell foam material that does not hold dirt or absorb water.
Glad to see this amazing machine is still here! But it’s sad that it’s malfunctioning a lot.

This feels like an innovative car wash straight from 2002. Decent features, good washes & best customer service
This thing is from the 70's-80's BELIEVE IT OR NOT And this was considered State of the art then which is why they were so common!

Seems to operate fine, for such an old system, except the presoak manifolds. Wow, they need some work.
yes but its falling apart lets hope they fix it soon :(

WOW sad to see it on its last legs are they going to fix it , I hope so :'(
This system has been here a while, huh? I hope they can keep it up longer! And this uses Simoniz, right?
Why don’t they make the filament brushes anymore? They are so cool
They still do but foam material is more appealing
Did you hook up the gopro to the R7B? like you said you might would?
And just like that, he's gone again.
I Wonder if they still have these in Florida
The noise of the motor reminds me how old it is

Rodj no this was filmed 6/8/20. Stuff must’ve been sold/removed. The owner brings a bunch of old stuff from his Canadian location when he comes down.
Could you revisit Osprey Car Wash if you get a chance? I would like to see if they still have their old Hanna Sherman equipment.
Here in Jordan all the proccess Manual,, hard and expencieve

5:02 Almost stoped working
I can’t tell if this machine wants to destroy itself or wash the car...
That’s a rare car wash! It was Filament brushes which is extremely rare to find in a car wash!!
Is the machine custom programmed? I've never seen an R7B operate like that.
My guess is yes
It’s using a Voyager PLC.
@@carwashreviewsandmore7609 I thought so, thank you.
