Thank you for these wonderful videos. You have a way of describing in a way that makes it easy to picture and understand. I love the bullseye- above the target analogy. This visualization helps a lot. It took me 2 months to practice the notes in the Clarion register without using the register key. I understood what was said about voicing, but I was not able to put it in action. Even practicing with the register key, when releasing it, my notes would quickly move back down. Accepting squeaks allow me to explore without fear, and now I am able to put voicing into action. The clarinet is extremely challenging for me, but I am enjoying learning with and without squeaking. It's such an expressive instrument. ❤️ 🎶 As an added bonus, I also feel I'm teaching my children that challenges come with Rewards, and although I may get frustrated sometimes, I also remember to laugh. Squeak, squeak, squeak! 😊
Awesome! I'm glad that this was helpful for you! For that voicing exercise where you play the high notes without the register key, focus on giving the reed lots of energy so it can continue vibrating at that higher frequency. When the embouchure support and air support are in just the right position to really maximize the reed vibrations then you can keep it up in the higher register.
I love this video. Learned some new things.
Excellent!
